Most people on NSB saw it on a mismatch but profesional boxers and trainers thought it was gonna be alot more competitive.
Algieri isn't a bad fighter, its just Pacquiao is that good. Algieri would beat or be very close against alot of good fighters including Floyd, Maidana, Rios, Broner, Khan, Garcia, and Crawford if he moves up.
Pac beating him by a historical scorecard just makes it even more impressive
I like Pacquiao, think he's one of the greatest fighters of this generation.
But let's not pretend that the Algieri is some monster whom Pac made look ordinary.
The part you wrote about Algieri beating the guys on top is beyond delusional.
Cliff, why did the BWAA announce their fighter of the year nominations before the year was over? Doesn't that undermine their credibility? Has TBRB talked about doing their own end-of-the-year awards? Keep it simple, Fighter, Fight, KO of the Year.
Porter is better than Gamboa, Beltran, and Burns collectively? Because he KO'd Paulie Malignaggi? I don't understand grandiose statements like this.
It's a timing product based on when nominations are tallied and when meetings are. Ballot has been adjusted before after initial noms. I emailed this morning and asked he be added and got seconded by several prominent writers. The BWAA thing isn't over yet neccesarily.
