I think it's the same with Marquez and Canelo. JMM repeatedly takes shots at Alvarez. He complained about his first title shot, said he wasn't elite when he beat Trout and claimed the Angulo fight was fixed etc.
Marquez, like Froch, struggled for years to get attention, and both had to watch a new young fighter take the "easy" route to becoming a superstar just as they were finally getting popular themselves.
You'd think they'd leave it alone now they have made their own money, but for whatever reason, they don't.
Its plain silly, and honestly he comes off as a bully. Khan clearly doesnt want any problems, he's not that type of guy.
When Khan and Brook have gone at it with the name calling, which was initiated by Brook, Khan clearly was forcing the banter act..
it's simply not him, he doesnt enjoy it. Even when Angel Garcia was going at him, he tried to stay reserved, never been much of a **** talker as far as giving it the large during fight build ups etc..
yes he gives it the big-in when he talks about himself, and sometimes comes across a bit deluded, but thats his way of instilling confidence in himself...but he's never been good at **** talkin other fighters, just not in his character
My point is if someone doesnt want any problems with u, leave them alone, the bigger man doesnt need to press someone who doesnt bite back.
a little bit among boxing fans, casuals dont have a clue. The issue is that Khan hasn't fought here in a major fight in years, Sky has rarely shown him and the peak of his fame, on his IV days are long behind him. He's almost the forgotten man of Brit boxing at the moment and a lot of that is his own fault.
In terms of Froch, this is a question for everyone: how did this beef start? Cos I hear Froch talk more about Khan than the other way around, what's up with that?
Khan got mad about the comments Froch made on this show and started talking ****.
The nickname King came from Frank warren his promoter at the time when he was fighting for the 140lb WBA world title vs Kotelnyk. Sky backed the campaign as "The night that Khan can become King". Once he schooled kotelnyk the name stuck.
If Brook gets the same, it will also do well. Because they are enigmas in the UK. Khan hasn't been on PPV for ages and ended up being on prime time and did less than 150k his last couple of fights.
Let's not pretend as if he's got massive PPV appeal in the UK.
No one knows Brook outside of Sheffield really. He'd get decent numbers because the public would be like "Oh some British bloke's fighting Mayweather"
Whereas everyone would know who it was if Khan was fighting Mayweather.
What a fair comparison. Two of Khan's fights were in America. Have any of Froch's fights in America sold out?
Froch's 3 fights were all in England and heavily promoted. Two against a fellow English fighter and one against a fighter who has already fought in the UK in front of 50K people.
