Better win: Canelo over Lara or Kovalev over Hopkins?

Which win was better? Poll incoming.

At this time Lara was regarded as the best 154 pounder aside from Mayweather and Canelo. Canelo then won a very close decision, where some may argue Lara actually won. Canelo took the fight presumably with accurate power shots here and there accompanied with constant aggression while Lara was countering here and there and on the back-foot majority of the time.

    vs

49 year old legend in Hopkins deciding to face Kovalev instead of Aducknis Quackenson, Kovalev was favored to win although some put stock in Hopkins master classing the young KO machine and befuddling him with 'veteran tactics' as Kovalev would surely go guns blazing for a KO. When in fact it was Kovalev doing the master classing and fighting at a slower pace than anticipated.

These two fights were not actual fights -- they were business only...

          How is that obvious?

I'd say Lara was the better win.

Because Alvarez arguably didn't even win.

Arguably. So every close fight in history can't compare to Kovalev's win because they arguably didn't win?

Pacquaio arguably didn't beat Marquez in 2008 but which win would you say is better Marquez or Hopkins?

Kovalev's performance was better in the sense he dominated but I can't see how beating a 49 year old Hopkins is better than beating Lara.

Kov-Hop because it was a decisive illustrative victory, while Canelo-Lara left people even more confused and nobody really seems that sure of how good either fighter is.

Ask yourself how many people genuinely felt Hopkins would win over Kovalev. I said from the start he had no chance. Hopkins hasn't fought anyone near the level of Kovalev for years and years and lost to Dawson who's not even 1/10th the fighter Kovalev is

On the other hand you have Lara who many said was the boogeyman and Canelo would never fight him, he'd get outboxed and Mayweather should fight Lara etc. It was a 50/50 fight.

Name wise, Hopkins of course craps all over Lara. But quality of win I'd go Lara over Hopkins any day.

I actually scored the fight in favor of Lara on fight night, which may lead me to choosing the Kovalev win. I have no doubt that if Canelo gave a better performance, I would of picked his win over Lara as the better win.

I was just really impressed with the way Kovalev beat Hopkins. He was patient and used his range, it was beautiful.
