I agree. I think they actually did want to make it for real in 2009 but Manny (Ariza) ****ed that up. I think after the third Marquez fight when Floyd offered $40 million was another attempt but Floyd was too stubborn. Arum didn't plan on Manny getting KTFO and now he has to take whatever money they get because Floyds numbers aren't what they used to be but they are still better than Manny's.

He said basically said Moonvez is a billionaire and he wou not let Floyd run anything. I informed him that he is not a billionaire and that Floyd is possibly worth as much or more than him

I said POSSIBLY worth as much, because the site says FMJ is worth 295 and Moonvez is worth 300mil. Now if the site is wrong or isn't privy to all of their assets or income, then it could be wrong. So, that is why I said "POSSIBLY worth as much or more". It already says he is worth 5 million less, so the less is already covered. I wasn't insinuating anything by it, just correcting the fact that Moonvez isn't a Billinaire. If you don't understand now, I'm not sure how to explain it any other way so that you'll will.

I'm all for promoting the fight, but do it after its actually a signed deal.

Previously, when Manny was asked about a Mayweather fight in his post-fight interviews, he would reply that it was up to his promoter. His detractors on NSB (and elsewhere) clowned him for not publicly speaking out that he wanted the Mayweather fight. Now, he's being vocal about wanting the fight, erasing any doubt on his end. Arum is saying that he's talking to the big wig of CBS, Les Moonves about making the fight. I just don't see anything wrong with this approach. It's renewing interest in a huge fight that many had given up on. It's easier to convince everyone who can make this fight happen that it's totally worth the effort, if tremendous interest & buzz in it are generated. That said, Mayweather has been con****uously silent latey on the subject, which does create uncertainty that he's on board.

No, you pointed out that they have to pay for ads which get expensive. You cited the Super Bowl, which is hundreds of times more expensive than the average ad. Further, most of their ads are aired by the PPV carrier, Showtime and the parent network. The carrier sees their money on the back end. And Showtime and CBS aren't charging. So you're just talking out of your ass. There is no way sales need to hit 1m in order for them to break even. No CEO is signing off on that budget, even if they want to get back into boxing (like they really give a **** that much). Just shut up, man. You tried running BS and got caught out there. The Super Bowl is much more expensive than anyone else.. so are the NBA playoffs when Floyd has run ads. Those are big, big amounts of people watching TV not some 5:00 sitcom rating. These are very inflated numbers too that could easily reach 7 figures for a series of commercials being ran as opposed to maybe just one on the Super Bowl. Again though, this was never the topic and you just spin it to some ****** discussion.

Why wouldn't the Showtime person sign off on that? Was Floyd getting 1 million buys before he left Showtime? Yes. He had Oscar, Mosley, Hatton, Marquez and Cotto all do 1 million buys or more, all of them. Why do you think he was money mayweather, he went in there saying I can guarantee you 1 million buys a fight. And you know what, he was right because he had been doing it, what he didn't forsee though was Floyd not fighting draws. He had been doing it, again look at the record.

So once again, looking at it factually it makes all the sense Showtime budgeted in for a 1 million floor for each fight and would expect the same trend. They weren't sold oppponents they were sold PPV and as Floyd being the drawing power and these various opponents (except for Oscar) moved a couple hundred more or less. Guys like Guereero and Maidana are a long way from the Oscar, Cotto and Mosley days of 2.4, 1.5 and 1.4 million buys. (I'm sure Floyd left out Canelo was on almost all those undercards before him)

Floyd is smart enough to hire Al Haymon, who does know contracts. You don't know me. I signed a contract once, and fulfilled it for 21 in the U.S. Navy. You're preaching accountability to the wrong guy kid! Manny is the biggest fight, but not the only fight, and trust me, Manny needs Floyd way more than Floyd needs Manny. Everyone is saying pressure needs to be on Floyd, but someone needs to put the pressure on Arum to step aside and let this fight happen.

You're right. Very sensible post and they haven't said anything negative really. I love the Manny footlocker commercial... I guess I'd just be walking on eggshells to get the fight done.

Yes, but they are still giving all the money to Floyd it isn't like they just pocked the extra 10 million. His guarantee was never 32 million from HBO, they told him to hit the curb.
