When was the last time a fighter threw combinations at Wlad?

Povetkin is a very good combination puncher, I guess you have to give Wladimir credit for not allowing him too. Povetkins only answer seemed to be trying to land a big overhand right as Wladimir tried to tie him up.
Haye is more of a one-two puncher.
I'd really like to see a half decent heavyweight try fire off some combinations, maybe it would even make Wladimir weary of trying to clinch. Of course it would require them to be in tremendous shape, its always going to be energy sapping for a fighter in excess of 230lbs to sustain it.
These guys just stand in front of him flicking out a jab almost frozen stiff or they go straight into survival mode, its ridiculous.
I think Stiverne fits the bill the most though he waits way too long at times.
I don't think he wins but he has very good handspeed, hes a good counterpuncher, solid beard, a very good bodypuncher, bags of power, quite explosive when he wants to be. I think he'd definitely be the most dangerous opponent Wladimir has fought in some years. He has to get by Wilder first though.Comment

I think alot of it has to do with the size,,power and speed of wlad. I recall alot of past opponents mentioning he was much faster than he looks on tv. they get intimidated and dont wanna leave themselves open to anything. a good example is ibragimov. that guy is usually always ripping combinations but he was passive as hell against wlad
His handspeed is definitely underrated. I remember being laughed at when I claimed I felt his handspeed was probably almost on par with Hayes going into that fight. He has very deceptive handspeed and it definitely shocks a lot of them.
His style, assets, his speed, power even his clinching definitely are a contributing factor in it but what I guess I am saying is would be nice to see a fighter in there that has trained like his life depended on it, with a great chin, good combinations that really makes a go of putting it on him.
Or a fighter that steps back & tries landing the uppercut as he goes to clinch - I can't recall one fighter doing this.
Its almost like they all go in and instantly freeze the second he lands that jab.
They either freeze on the spot or get up on their toes and seem to just want to go the distance. I guess its like Tyson wanted quoted that everyone has a plan until they get hit.Comment

Dan is certainly not one of them.my bad if im wrong on dan. I dont recall many of his earlier posts so I apologize if I was wrong. you have to admit tho,,,there are many on here that have nothing at all but negative things to say about wlad which makes them obvious haters in my view. im obviously a wlad fan but im also critical of him when warranted
Yeah of course, hell I'm known to be one of them. I just think it's fair to ask some questions of the opponents Wlad is facing from time to other. They should really be getting themselves in better shape for their shot at the title.
Once again, this isn't Wlad's fault, he stays in monster shape, year round. If only other contenders would do the same, then Wlad might actually get a challenge every once a while.Comment

Povetkin yes. Haye sometimes, but usually is more of a pot shotter at heavyweight.
Haven't seen much of Brock to be honest.
But most of Wlad's opponents think that they can take him out with one shot for some reason, maybe because that's all they need to knockout the relative mediocre opposition they are facing before him.Comment
