Would a Eubank Jr win be better for boxing?

The real question is whom has he even fought? Just riding off of a surname and that's it.

Look at both of their last 3 opponents and you'll see what I mean.

Saunders has fought better fighters but neither have fought very good fighters.

Saunders best win is John Ryder and he struggled in that fight.

I think it possibly could be.

Saunders has operated at a higher level but I've never been impressed by any of his performances really. It seems that European level may be his ceiling.

Eubank has fought exclusively bums but I can't help but think there's more to work with there, talent wise and marketability wise

from what i've seen of saunders the kid is pretty good but he just doesn't strike me as a world beater. eubank on the other hand ... well he has fought nothing but bums so it's hard to judge but he seems like he has potential to go further than saunders. it's hard to be sure given the level of Eubanks opposition though that's what makes this one really interesting.

for me I think Eubank comes through it but the fight could be a little too soon. With his father's antics and name etc Eubank does have the potential to pull in more fans than saunders if he wins that's for sure.

Still undecided on who i'll root for. I just hope it's a good tear up.
Can see it possibly going the distance, but it's hard to predict this fight when both have a lot of unanswered questions.

This is one of my most anticipated fights of the year and i cannot fxcking wait

Saunders is pretty good with speed and decent skills but I think he's conned himself into a complacent attitude towards this fight simply because Eubank Jr hasn't yet faced anybody who had more than pulse enough to pass the medical. That doesn't prove anything, though. Not having beaten even one decent fighter thus far doesn't mean he can't or couldn't do so and despite this match looking on paper a premature career risk for their man - vis a vis respective records - Team Eubank's willingness to accept the challenge indicates real belief on their part that Jr has Billy Joe's number right now. Whether that's true or not I'm going for Eubank to win this particular battle ( I think they are more than likely to fight again) not least because, of the two, Saunders is the one taking things for granted - inside his head.

Eubank hasn't looked half as good as Saunders against opponents of the same level, so tell me, other than being racist why you would think this? He's not faster and he doesn't hit hard, Saunders has the better defence and movement. I hate boxing fans sometimes.

What exactly gave you the idea he is a fringe level European contender? Plus how can you be such, when you already own the European title?

BJS's last "3" opponents were unbeaten prospects (4 in total), not journeymen who themselves padded their record against no hopers worse than them, but guys who are investments. This will be his 4th straight fight against an unbeaten prospect, yet somehow he is the fringe contender.

Now have a peek at the guys Eubank Jr has beaten and then we'll have a clearer picture as to who is the fringe contender.

Be honest when you answer that if Eubank Jr didn't have that surname, yet fought similar opposition would he have been regarded this highly?




That basically ends it right there. How can you praise someone and talk about BJS being a fringe European contender, yet Eubank himself hasn't done jack ?



Yeah, he has a useful surname, but beyond that he has done nothing, but built a padded record against bums and people are only mesmerized by whom his father is than face the question what he has done to this point. Shouldn't he have been at least an English champion by now?
