Ross Purrity was knocked out in 1 round by Cleveland Woods, a 220lb guy with 3 fights and who ended up with a 14-19 record. He was put down twice by relatively lazy right hands.

Woods was KOd in 2 rounds by Vitali Klitschko in his 1st year as a Pro.

Those were FAR from lazy right hands. More like they were fully wound up right hands, swinging for the fences.

This was the only occasion in 54 fights and a great percentage of them the full number of rounds too.

In most of these fights, he was smashed from pillar to post by big power punching guys due to his poor defensive skills.

He finished that fight above on his feet and was waved off due to being wobbly. He has never been properly knocked out or counted out ever despite 20 losses!

He is widely regarded as having one of the hardest chins in boxing of all time and possibly the hardest of all. Perhaps Marion Wilson only can be said to have harder with any certainty.

This is in striking contrast to someone like George Foreman, who does have an iron chin as well, but was knocked out and counted out against Muhammad Ali, one of the weakest punchers of all time!

Vlad is fragile and timid..even against super weak comp.

Wladimir is among the most elite conditioned HW's of all time, Frazier was not even athletic! Wladimir is 6'6" and 250lbs. A man that size MUST fight at a more appropriate pace for a giant man.

"The smaller the man, the more stamina he can have, the bigger they are, the more they must pace."

Wladimir bashed Puritty. He gassed because he had never been past round 4 in any fight (he'd knocked all of them out) and over extended himself on an opponent with practically the hardest chin of all time. Ever since, he paces himself.

Wladimir has come back from losses, learned from mistakes, conquered adversity and forged himself into something better everytime until he now seems almost invincible. THAT'S heart. What did Frazier ever really do? He never really beat a decent opponent besides Ali, who had major shortcomings!

Brewster and Sanders would KO1 Frazier under any circumstances.

Puritty has terrible skills. Frazier could never hurt him though and he is so strong, he will grind down and knock out Joe at some point in the fight almost guaranteed. Frazier never fought an opponent as good as Puritty, Sanders or Brewster, let alone Klitschko.

No matter what Frazier did, Wladimir would foil him. He would knock him out with the first connected ramrod jab.

Brewster was a "super-Frazier". He was a taller, heftier, stronger, more powerful, FAR harder chinned boxer with a similar style to Frazier but much better skills as well.

Ali was officially beaten by 5 opponents. 1 of them good, 4 of them featherfists, 3 of those chinny and one of them was a CW green bum. He was also unofficially beaten about 5 other times (Shavers's, Frazier another time, Norton the other 2 times, Young) perhaps others too. And was smashed pillar to post in nearly all of his fights, relying on gifts to win.

Wladimir Klitschko, and any of his good opponents would knock out Ali, Frazier, and every single one of their opponents, mostly in the first few rounds, or otherwise clown them! FACT! The only 2 guys that present major problems at all are Geroge Foreman and Larry Holmes.

If Wladimir Klitschko was to stage a fight against Frazier today, boxing fans would be outraged for him defending against such a small and bummy opponent.

Puritty WAS trash. No dispute. He would still knock Frazier out regardless and be dangerous due to his intrinsic qualities anyway in any era and do much better than he did in his own.

Foreman aside, Ali KOed no other relevant ATG.

ATG is a measure of a boxers worth against the criteria of his day. They were never exposed to such dangerous or strong boxers as today. And there are no other ATG's for Wlad to KO because he is so good he doesn't allow any other would be ATG's to shine brightly enough.

In an era where there are many ATG's to beat, nobody was really THAT great at all because if they were, they would never have let the other boxers shine! It's also a product of Wladimir's long reign and dominance. Other greats like Holyfield, Tyson and LEnnox had much shorter reigns, due to defeats.

Ali and Frazier were never exposed to a boxer as heavily built, experienced at HW and hard chinned as Puritty.

Ali and Frazier were never exposed to any 6'4" 225lb lightening fast, hard punching, hard chinned, awkward southpaw, highly aggressive boxer with a pedigree like Sanders, who would lay waste to Ali, Frazier and the 60's/70's HW division in general!

Wladimir's competition is either THE, or right amongst, the strongest competition of all time. And he still dominates them.

Wladimir DID fight aggressively, and knocked out most all of his opponents in the first few rounds. After Sanders he refined his game. The object of boxing is to beat up your opponent and NOT get hit back, which he mastered like no other HW.

Wladimir Klitschko objectively has a strong chin. Not an iron chin, but a good one. Nobody has as many REAL HW fights against such hefty opponents and has FEWER losses. He has always finished a fight on his feet, and only 1ce lost a match by anything that could be considered chin related (which also involved a massive head crunch). He has gotten up to WIN against other opponents and taken full blooded punches on multiple occasions which would have knocked past ATG's into next week!

This is against the criteria of Wladimir's day.

You put Wladimir in any pre80's era, Klitschko has an "iron chin" by comparison.

The Slavs have overall the hardest chins in boxing.

GGG is a good example. His whole style is based around having a hard chin. He has taken would be knockout shots from "punchers" on the way in to land his own devastating blows. He walks through the hardest hitters of his division.

Wladimir gassed because back in that day he tried to fight like a puny fighter like Frazier.

If Joe "I lost an athletics competition to a race car driver in 1973" Frazier is an all time great boxer then why do we even watch this crap?

I mean in the most literal sense, the guy was a slob who didn't mind getting hit in the head, not an athlete. If he was "among the best" then boxing is clearly not a world-level sport.

I don't think there's a living soul on the planet who honestly thinks Frazier would have a chance against Klitschko. They all have some ulterior motive for pretending they think that.
