Vladimir's chin is underrated. He was never knocked out cold, Sanders was a monster puncher and Vlad clearly underestimated him, foolishly.

Sanders got him with a head butt first, that did most of the damage and caused a cut. Watch the fight carefully, the first knockdown wasn't from a punch, it was from a nasty deliberate head butt.
