Pulev is garbage; the HW div. is trash.

I haven't heard that, I think most agree he'd be a contender in any era. I just can't see how he's as talented as Muhammad Ali or Lennox Lewis when he doesn't show it in the ring? He's a safety first fighter who gets buzzed by jabs from heavyweights than honestly aren't that good.
Someone like Elroy would tell you he's the greatest heavyweight of all times. That's laughable to me.
He's not as talented as Ali, or even Lewis (or for that matter his brother), but he is bigger, stronger and significantly more powerful than any heavyweight champion that has come before him. Regardless of era he'd never be a mere contender.Comment

You haven't heard that? He is ridiculed on here and other forums all the time, not to mention most of the 'historian's' take on him.

I disagree with the last. He's obviously not the biggest as he's the same height and weight as Lewis is. And multiple other fighters were just as big or bigger in the past, yet didn't make it as far.
I also don't think he's the most powerful, even though he's up there. his reluctance to go for the kill when having his man hurt, hurts his estimation in my book.Comment

What a stiff. Literally. Could the guy stand up any straighter or keep his chin up in the air anymore than he does? How could Wlad miss? The div. is a disgrace to what HW boxing used to be. Just another crap win for Wlad as people continue to believe he is one of the greatest HW's of all time. He's not. He's just competing in an era where fighters literally have minimal boxing skills. Wlad would've gotten wrecked and been knocked out multiple times had he come up in the 90's. And if you don't believe that, then you really don't know your boxing.Comment

If Vitali struggled against an old Lewis he certainty would have lost against Lewis in his prime.Last edited by Boxingwizard; 11-16-2014, 01:02 AM.Comment

Don't compare Pulev to a prime Holyfield or Lewis. Boxers in the 90s would have given the Klitschko's a much tougher fight, probably would have beaten them. Lewis and Holyfield certainly would of. Moorer, Tua, Tyson Razor Rudduck, Bowe, Golota etc would have given the Klitschko's a much tougher fight than the likes of Povetkin, Leapai, and Pulev. Bowe and Moorer I would have given them a good shot against the Klitschko's.
