Name some of Ricardo Lopez wins that are more impressive than Morales', Barrera's, Saldivar's, Chiquita's best wins.
Who Is The Greatest Mexican Fighter Of All-Time?

I agree Chava Sanchez didn't have many years in the game but over 45 fights and wins over Bazooka Gomez, The Professor Azumah Nelson, Lopez etc by the time he was 23 makes him the goat in my book. With all due respect only Sanchez and Chavez belong in the discussion. Finito, Olivares etc are greats but not the bestComment

So beating Gomez trumps Chavez' career completely? That Gomez win was great but the sample size was too small to anoint him as the greatest when he was barely entering the prime of his career. The sky was the limit for him and he could've easily surpassed Chavez in that regard it's just a shame he left so soon. The best and most fair thing to do is compare them at the point at which Sanches tragically died. At the age of 23 he was clearly ahead of what Chavez had accomplished having beaten more quality opponents.
However, It's hard to ignore what Chavez was able to accomplish in the sport and speculate on what could've been on Sanches' part. He had 27 consecutive title defenses and 37 title fight victories, which is almost as many wins as Sanches had. He also started of his career with close to 90 straight wins and won 6 titles in 3 different divisions.Last edited by Dinamita 03; 11-14-2014, 08:28 PM.Comment

Sanchez is a legend in my book at just 23 his resume would have been god-like if he lived. JCC is up there between other Mexican fighters wise, but ATG hes one of the most overrated fighters his resume is good but nothing special.Comment

I guess I'm biased because growing up my father would always mention Chava whenever we watched boxing. He would always sigh and tell me about what he could have been, sadly his life was cut way too short.
Annihilating Lopez x2, Gomez, a good fighter in Castillo and of course Nelson at 23 was extremely solid and painted for a star studded career. He had movement, above average power, in ring boxing IQ, in other words he was a well rounded boxer.
Yo, quick question for all my Sal fanboys. At one point in Sal's career, was he attempting to change his nickname? I don't remember which fight it was but when they announced his as a the winner I believe they called him, Salvador " El Assessino" Sanchez. Can someone confirm? (I don't want to go back scavenging through the tapes
