You're comparison of Algeri to those fighters is way off-base. Maidana was 33-3 with 31 KOs, and was the WBA WW Champ. Algeri is 20-0 with 8 KOs, and is the WBO Jr. WW Champ. Maidana was coming off 4 WW fights with 3 KOs out 4. Algeri survived one fight with Ruslan, and has never fought at WW, much less a WW title holder. You see where i'm going with this? LOL!

Nothing wrong with a fighter moving up or down, especially for a bigger fight, i.e. Mayweather vs. Canelo, Cotto vs. Martinez, etc. However, Pacquiao moving down to face Algeri is just not the same. Like the article pointed out, Manny just doesn't have many options without Haymon fighters. He can't fight the best of the best. I wish he would've become a free agent like Floyd and Cotto did, but he didn't, so it is what it is. Algeri is probably the best he could do at this point, but it's a damn shame, no matter how you look at it. For Manny's sake, I hope Mikey Garcia and Crawford meet him at 140 or 144, hopefully in 2015.
