But I didn't say anything bad about Manny. That's what I don't understand. I said Algeri didn't belong, so how is that saying something bad about Manny? The article says Manny is in a bad spot, not "Manny sucks!" The article said "He's a lock for the Hall of Fame." I don't know why Evol is hurt.

I'm pointing out that Algeri is a Jr. WW, and Pacquiao is a WW. Why is everyone talking about "He's the bigger man." I didn't hear anyone saying Maidana is the bigger man, or Canelo is the bigger man, because it doesn't mean much. Tyson was hardly ever the bigger man, neither was Joe Frazier. However if you were 6'3", in your 1st fight at heavyweight, and you were facing Tyson or Frazier, you would be afraid...very afraid! Why? Because they made a living of destoying taller fighters, just like Manny has.
and people did mention weight with canelo and maidana vs floyd, esspecially canelo
you could just say algieri is sht rather than try say he isn't comfortable at this weight, or he's fighting a bigger guy, pacquiao is the size of ruslan, ruslan has fought bradley at the full welterweight limit and algieri has noted that already from standing next to him that ruslan is the same size as pacquiao, and he has fought bigger guys than pacquiao @ 144, the weight he is at now
the only thing he has to be worried about is the same thing everyone else that jumps to this level, the pressure of fighting under millions of people and against a percieved legendLast edited by SplitSecond; 11-14-2014, 12:57 PM.Comment

I think you're missing the point. It's not moving up or down, or CW, that's the problem. The problem is the opponent. Algeri is not on Manny's level, and everyone knows that. I tried to be nice and not blame him for the position he's in, but he's in a bad spot. Danny Garcia, Khan, Thurman, Porter, Peterson, Broner, Matthysee, Brook...all these guys are better than Algeri, but he can't get fights, so he's stuck with Algeri. If he wins, he gets no credit, and if he loses, he's done. It's a lose/lose situation. Like I said, hopefully Crawford and Mikey Garcia can step up in 2015, or else he should retire.Comment

I don't know what that means? Manny weighs-in 144, Algeri was weighing in below or at 140. Algeri may be taller, but that means nothing. Manny has 38 KOs, Algeri has 8. Manny has 56 fights, Algeri has 20. Manny has been fighting top fighters since 2003, Algeri survived one fight with Ruslan in 2014. This is a mis-match, pure and simple.Comment

"beccause he is u idiot!" WTF?? You win Evol! Chris Algeri is a beast! He's a real big and powerful man! he's better than Berto, Ortiz, Guerrero, Cotto, Canelo, and Maidana! I don't even know why I insulted him, and I apologize to you and him. Have a nice day!Comment

Do you know what Ortiz, Guerrero, and Andre Berto all have in common, that Algeri doesn't? They were all WELTERWEIGHT title holders. That's who we expect Pacquiao (and Floyd) to fight, WW title holders. I would give Manny a pass if it were Danny Garcia, but not Algeri. However, I do understand that Manny has limited options:
November 13, 2014 (Bleacher Report):
Not including himself, six of the nine fighters on ESPN's top 10 ranking for the welterweight division are unavailable to Manny Pacquiao because of the politics surrounding the sport of boxing today.
Floyd Mayweather Jr., Keith Thurman, Marcos Maidana, Shawn Porter, Devon Alexander and Robert Guerrero are all signed with Al Haymon who Pacquiao's people—Top Rank and HBO—refuse to work with at the current time.
Two other names on the top 10 list are Timothy Bradley and Juan Manuel Marquez, a pair that Pacquiao has fought a combined six times. Besides Kell Brook, there isn't a single compelling matchup available to Pacquiao in the welterweight division.
Some of you might be thinking that a move back down to junior welterweight might make matchmaking a little easier, but many of the top guys in that division like Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Lucas Matthysse and Lamont Peterson are also signed with Haymon, which makes all of those matchups dead on arrival as well.
Pacquiao is already a lock for the Hall of Fame in my view and I'm sure in the view of most others, so he doesn't have much if anything left to prove. But it is a shame that years of his career are being wasted on fighting the likes of Brandon Rios and Chris Algieri.
