Maybe I missed the quote where he said he'd be moving down in that article?
Carl Froch vs Bhop would indeed be a massive fight, that'd sell out Wembley another 80k crowd...
Very interesting fingers crossed he does go to 168 lol.

Bernard's wanted Froch for a long time and now that Hopkins looks vulnerable Froch might agree. It looks more & more like Chavez will never happen, where he might see Hopkins as a safe and profitable option, where Golovkin would be a dangerous option.
That said, I think this style match-up favors Hopkins over Froch. I didn't see Hopkins beating Kovalev, but I do see him beating Froch at 170.
How would it sit with Carl to lose to a much older version of Hopkins at 170, when Calzaghe beat a younger Hopkins at 175?

If Hopkins wants Golovkin, we can end him. Anyone else, he's got my full support. WAR HOPKINS!!!

Hopkins didn't say he's moving down, he said he wants to fight someone from the SMW division at a weight both him and the supper-middleweight are comfortable at. I would assume that weight would be 170 lbs, the same weight Hopkins fought Wright and Pavlik.
GGG or Froch seem like the options. Hopkins mentioned GGG in the lead-up to the Kovalev fight. I think GGG would stop him so the Froch fight is more likely IMO. Froch can be outboxed as we saw in the Dirrell and Glenn Johnson fights. I think Hopkins can pull that one off at 50 years old and I hope that is the fight he pursues.
