Kovalev is a superstar. American fight fans are mesmerized by the Russian Krusher.

Ward's inactivity has brought his stock down.

Given the choice of who you would rather watch fight..i'd imagine most would go with Kovalev. He's the A side in my opinion.

Ward's inactivity has really hurt him. Kovalev has been hot, plus he's coming off a career unification win. Not to mention, he's more exciting. For me personally, Kovalev is the draw.

I still think if the fight happened tommorow that Ward would be A-side, but after last Saturday the gap between the two's stardom has closed tremendously. Put it this way, if Kov were to fight one more time (wouldn't even have to be an elite opponent) and look impressive, while Ward still sits around and does nothing, then A-side and star power would shift to Kov in my opinion.

That scenario is highly likely since Ward doesnt even have anything lined up and a tune up is not going to keep him level with Kov.

Ward has been so inactive, clearly he is not A side

              So Kov

but i dont see Ward moving up to 175 and i dont see Kov coming down to 170

              Fight will never happen

Kovalev obviously, Ward hasn't done a damn thing since winning the Super 6.

Why on earth would you not want to see Ward move up? He's cleared out his division and not boxed at another. Unless he's going to fight GGG, then what else is there for him? Its the only logical step he can make. If he wants to make the most of his undoubted talent and maximise his standing and earning potential, then surely a move up is the only way this can be achieved.

Kovalev is clearly the A side.

Ward won't even be ranked in a couple days.

How is kov more known? Wards been around longer and always did good numbers. And since when is excitement and more activity a requirement for being A side? Lol
