Comments Thread For: Trainer: Media Should Shame Others Into Fighting Golovkin

Abel sanchez says that everyone is ducking them, but then turns around and says you guys need to reach out to our end with an offer. Doesn't add up.
I guess considering that HBO and team GGG don't offer opposition any real money and HBO gets real viewers off of these showcase fights, there is no incentive for either side to try to make a competitive fight by offering a decent purse.
HBO and Team GGG will continue to push the "he is feared and ducked" line while getting a million plus views and selling out small venues for fighting cab drivers. The only problem is, only HBO really benefits and the promoter, because HBO gets views and K2 gets gate money. GGG is taking a loss.Comment

Why should GGG move up in weight? He makes weight easily and it's not his fault he's being ducked. He should clean out his natural division and then maybe move up, but he's not being allowed to do that.Don't feel sorry for Golovkin. If he wants to be the best, there are options which involve moving up in weight. By that same token, I don't feel sorry for Ward who can also move up in weight and fight Kovalev.
I find it funny that so many other fighters (usually African American) get chastised for not taking risks but fan favourites get a bly. If Golovkin was to move up in weight and defeat Ward or Kovalev, what would that mean for his career?Comment

If GGG want to fight the best in his weight class he should take up Ward at catch-weight not fight smaller fighters like Canelo, Cotto or Mayweather. Those guys are blown-up welterweights, a completely smaller division. Why not PAC? He's a big name attraction.Comment

What is it people are always saying? To challenge himself.
Seriously though, if he stays at Middleweight then fair dos. I just don't expect to hear him complaining about missed opportunities or not getting the props he deserves because he has options.Comment

Simple. Pac wont go above welter, his 7th division. Cotto and Canelo compete at MW, while Floyd is lineal at SWW, and GGG is willing to drop to SWW.Comment

Obviously the bigger draws get to make offers. So hes talking about Cotto, Canelo, Froch, Chavez, Ward (questionable bigger draw, but gets much bigger purses). Regular top tenners without major following like Geale, Murray receive offers from GGG. No mystery hereAbel sanchez says that everyone is ducking them, but then turns around and says you guys need to reach out to our end with an offer. Doesn't add up.

I don't believe that is entirely true MC, from what I have read and seen in interviews whether correct or not is that HBO and his promotion team has had to OVERPAY Gennady's competition to the point of being ridiculous. Check supposed purses for Stevens, Macklin and Geale: they were all career paydays.Abel sanchez says that everyone is ducking them, but then turns around and says you guys need to reach out to our end with an offer. Here's a novelty for your Abel: Perhaps the media should shame you for not accepting Andre Ward's challenge since you called out anyone up to 168lbs! Andrew called your bluff and you know it!Comment

Ward doesnt need to challenge, thats for challengers. he needs to produce an offer like the A side he claims to be. Hey did you know Ward had nothing to do with that letter sent to Hbo? Thats what his trainer just revealed. He also said Ward should have a couple of tuneups before facing GggComment
