Look at Kovalev's resume, he's never fought anybody close to world class that actually has power. Hopkins, Agnew, Sillakh, Caparello, Campillo, Cleverly etc., very little power or average, hardest puncher in there is Sillakh but he was a mess after his KO loss.

No power, no worries, Kovalev can blitz his opponent without consequence and they're too afraid to punch back because he's got so much power. His chin is suspect, KO'd in the amateurs, dropped by Boone, dropped by Cap, plus you can see he doesn't like getting punched, his head really snaps back.

I think his conditioning is suspect too, he sat back and boxed vs Hopkins, Hopkins rarely threw or clinched as well and getting hit zaps you of energy. He was breathing hard during the middle rounds. He rarely gets there.

These flaws will be amplified against Beterbiev, who has a very dangerous arsenal of punches, punches he can land without much trouble especially on the inside. Beterbiev was Kovalev's former teammate/sparring partner in the Olympics, he even beat him in the amateurs.

"look at kovalevs resume blah blah"--This is such a fallacy as a argument because you are knocking Kovs resume and favoring a guy that beat a washed up bum in Cloud. Has Berbetiev ever fought any one with power? Let alone someone who is not a zombie? How could you ever convince yourself to believe Berbetiev hasd a chance?

Beterbiev probably stands the best chance at challenging Kovalev right now at 175. Two Russians probably wouldn't sell very well in the US, they'd need to do that match in Europe most likely

Beterbiev would fight him now. Stevensons goal is to eventually fight Kovalev. Such a difference between the two statements made by this man today. Tells u who's p*ssy and who isn't. Bring on Kovalev vs Beterbiev. **** Super Duck!

Yes, but if few opponents or not the desired opponents can be found, the process of moving the likes of Beterbiev quickly through the ranks could be troublesome. Also, it is likely that the huge payday that a Kovalev vs Beterbiev championship match would bring may well make it worth while to make the match only once the fighters have been properly marketed. And even if those two fighters don't put money first, it is likely that their management would want to maximize profit rather than sacrifice huge paydays for improperly marketed fights.

I know. Why not have Beterbiev fight Stevenson? The winner gets Kovalev. Oh, that's right... they're protecting Aducknis as long as possible.
