He won't fight anyone from 160 because nobody there can get him the type of money a fighter of his magnitude is looking for. Maidana and Bradley at least have been on PPV a couple of times (Bradley x3), Maidana twice against Mayweather and gave him 24 tough rounds. GGG won't be on PPV cause no PPV fighter wants to fight him, they want to fight eachother to maximize their purses. Just like Team GGG said Ward makes no financial sense, GGG makes no financial sense for a guy on his way out the sport (Cotto).

I don't understand what is the obsession of these fans and the mismatches. Cotto vs Bradley, Maidana, Chavez Jr, Pacquiao are all excellent match ups that you should all be asking for, if Cotto happens to beat Canelo. Vice versa, I would love to see Canelo vs Pacquiao/Maidana/Bradley/Chavez Jr.

    Wait wait wait
Did you just say that no one will give Cotto the money he is looking to make yet you lost fawking Maidana and Bradley as option!? Really? Yeah cause them
Two have a great fan base and bring in the real bucks

Look it up, Hunters video interview was posted here just last week
Hunter actually uses the phrase "If I had my way" regarding the so called tune-ups. Once again, you're posting snippets of interviews instead of giving the full story. It's very very odd behaviour.

He says that Ward himself would be willing to go straight into a big fight and at the end of the day, it's down to the fighter and his manager.

You should know all about that since Abel Sanchez, another trainger, got all hyped saying Golovkin would fight anyone from 154-168.

Tom Loffler, Golovkin's manager, was forced to take matters into this own hands and retract those statements, saying that he didn't want his fighter in the ring with Andre Ward right now because he's not ready.

        • it seems like people are just trying to throw up smokescreens for the fact that one 160 pound titliest doesn't want to fight another 160 pound titliest by repeatedly bringing up a 168 pounder who hasn't fought in god knows how long.

GGG's stance has been made perfectly clear numerous times ... he wants to unify 160 unless a verybig money fight above or below comes up. Big money at super middle is chavez jnr or froch. Big money at 154 = floyd. If a ward fight was to happen that would be awesome for the hardcore fans but it seems to me that neither side is that keen on it as it's not a fight that would ignite the casuals as ward is just not that relevant/big anymore. He needs to get out there and start fighting again. even one good win would get him back in the picture.

Otherwise GGG will stay at 160 where he is comfortable and seek to fullfill his long stated ambition. Apparently this is very complicated for NSB to understand.

The bottom line is Cotto won't beat Canelo; it won't even be close. Cotto will never man up and fight GGG at 160. Floyd will never fight GGG at any weight. Canelo will fight a great fight against Gennady at some point, but he too can't beat GGG. And Ward is pissing away precious prime time losing 3 court battles, soon to be a 4th court battle to the Goosens, and he has no interest in fighting Gennady. So you can dream on about if Cotto should beat Canelo, then...... Stop. Cotto is going to look bad against Canelo and take a beating. You'll see just how shot Sergio Martinez was by the beating Cotto takes from Canelo. He already took a beating by a young, strong, primed Austin Trout. Freddie Roach won't make that big of a turn around in Cotto against Canelo. Who do you want Cotto to then fight after Canelo train wrecks him? Tim Bradley? Juan Manuel Marquez?

              • Gotta love the posters on here trashing Cotto and his accomplishments. If you can't respect Miguel and what he's done for the sport over the past 10 years than you're more than likely a narrow minded fan who only hugs the nuts of a fighter with an "0". The guy has consistently been a top 10-15 fighter over the past 10 years and didn't win titles in 4 different divisions by luck. How many fighters can say they fought champs or former champs like Pac, Mayweather, Margarito, Mosley, Martinez, Judah, Clottey who were near their primes (Martinez was the favorite going in). Or undefeated contenders like Paulie, Quintana, Torres, Pinto, Trout, Foreman who were at their peak. Sure, he didn't win them all but he manned up a fought them when he had to.

Sanchez is hungry for a big fight which is fine, GGG has been truly impressive, but, let's not act like he's fought technically skilled fighters. The verdict is still out if he can deal with skilled fighters. As far as Cotto, the guy won his strap in June. Let's not act like he's been campaigning at 160 for years, wait and see who wins Canelo/Cotto before you nut huggers keep crying duck.

                • Cotto old small and slow at 154lbs

Go figure as Cotto wasn't a factor at 154lbs but beats the crippled vastly overrated Sergio for a belt at 160lbs. Cotto ain't beating Quillan or even Jermain at 160lbs let alone GGG. Cotto could give canelo a run for a few rounds till withering and losing to mexican red. Cotto is a shot fighter who beat a shotter fighter in Sergio. shotter fits for overrated Serge..

                      Just like I guaranteed...

                      Garcia would stop Khan
                      Maidana would thrash Broner
Cotto Would stop Martinez in 10

I GUARANTEE Cotto will demolish Canelo.

Again, no low volume, stationary counterpuncher is going to beat Miguel Cotto.

If you know boxing, you know that the style match up favors Cotto who is more active and mobile. Canelo is a wide hooker. Even when Canelo goes to the body its from mid-range. Look for Cotto to fight a beautiful inside out type of fight using angles and movement. Look for Canelo to be attempting to counter Cotto. Mayweather, the best counter puncher in the game, only landed 26% of his shots. Dont expect Canelo to do any better.

Canelo's low volume stationary style will not allow him to be competitive. Every fighter who has beaten Cotto has done so with a combination of volume and movement, two things Canelo lacks. The only exception to the Cotto rule was Margarito who won his fight with a combination of Volume and plaster.
