I'm a Wlad fan but keep it real, Pulev is **** like I said before the fight. Yeah they look great before because they are fighting absolute bums.

Pulev is not a good fighter, he is not even in the top 10 best fighters Wlad has fought/beaten maybe not even in the top 15.
He won't bounce back and beat Stiverne or Wilder, they will both K.O even quicker than Wlad did.

Pulev was a legit contender, and a good fighter, and still is. He didn't automatically become worse by losing this fight. He didn't run, he didn't try to survive for 12 rounds, he tried to fight and hit Wlad in the chin and knock him out. And he wobbled Wlad in the 5th round with a right hand. Pulev also was the mandatory challenger, and even after earning mandatory challenger status he fought 2 more times and won both by knockout before the 5th round. Can you name at least 12 heavyweights who Wlad fought in the recent past who are without a doubt better? Because you said he's not even in the top 10/15 and he's "****ty."

A quick examination of Pulev's resume reveals he fought good quality opposition.

Pulev looks good against them because he IS good. He did well against Wlad but Wlad is Wlad.

I don't think Wilder could beat Pulev at all. And I think Pulev vs Stiverne is 50/50.

I've followed Wladimir Klitschko intently for the last 8 or so years and this was his most dangerous fight. Pulev had the almost the right game plan; pressure Wlad, take the fight to him; rough him up, hit the body and head on the clinch and make him uncomfortable. Pulev did all those things and seemed like he wobbled Wlad on several occasions but was not able to capitalize because of the holding. However Pulev did not employ a good enough defense to withstand Klitschko's superior offense.

At the end of the day, Wlad impressed me. He kept his composure against a very determined and rough opponent and landed his signature power punches with precision. Kubrat Pulev also impressed me with his grit, determination, toughness and warrior like mentality; he took a lot of chances to muster his offense but was caught with the big bombs and went out on his shield.

This was as good a fight you will see with Wladimir KLitshcko

Good post. There has been too much crapping on both fighters post-fight from a lot of people around here. All things considered, it was a good fight. Pulev gave a better effort even in this brutal 5-round defeat than somebody like Haye or whoever else has in recent years. Respect to Pulev for the heart and sweet jabs, and respect to Wlad for keeping his composure and getting the guy out of there in spectacular fashion.

I really did believe in the Cobra before the bout - and I still do.. I really did believe in the foresight of his coaching team - which is very hard to maintain.

I was obviously totally mislead. Such lousy preparation for a match against the defending world champion is ridiculous.

If it wasn't the Cobra's heart, stamina, chin and power of will all would be over in round one. Nobody else would have tried to get up after that huge left hook plus the two hands push in round five

And beware! The Cobra Pulev will come back stronger and (hopefully) better prepared.

Pulev is a palooka pure and simple. Klitschko is a bona fide champion. Though I think his brother would win a fight between the two (which will never happen). Tyson Fury, punk that he is, would've put up a better fight. I'm hoping the winner of Wilder/Stivern fights Fury, then Klitschko. Vlad will still be champ but at least we'd have some real entertainment
