Bh will be remembered as the greater fighter, he took bigger risks and they are what will be remembered, real david and goliath stuff.

Floyd will be remembered for his unbeaten record so he will be remembered a bit more than Sven Ottke, as I think Floyd is a better fighter than Sven Ottke. Floyd is alongside JC.

FLoyd only has his unbeaten record to boast of as of now, because he certainly hasn't beaten better fighters than the smaller Pac. He cant boast of beating Morales twice, and Barrera two of the greatest mexcican fighters of all times. He cant boast of ko'ing big guys like Pac has done, or ko'ing and devastating as many people.

The lack of anything memorable is what is going to ultimately hurt Floyd
That, and ducking the best lb for lb fighter in the world (Pac).

True, the things Floyd will be remembered for ie, letting Miguel cotto fight Sergio so he didn't have to, avoiding Pac, CW GGG to 154 not fighting guys as good as Barrera and Morales and looking bad against Maidana while still somehow staying at no1 p4p, isn't conducive to being remembered as the greastest of your era.

Money is the only reason certain ranking systems keep Floyd at #1 lb for lb.

Imo he should be knocked down the list and given the ultimatum to face Pac, or else risk being stripped of his titles.

It's pathetic that he has been allowed to continue like this for as long as he has, and injurious to the sport!

What? Some of the other names you mentioned are quite silly too.

Karma will bite him back anyway. He wont be greater than BH when all is said and done. BH is doing things he shouldn't be doing every fight now. OK he didn't beat Kovalev, but he shouldn't be fighting these guys in the first place, so that is above Floyd, fighting people you shouldn't be fighting.
You ask Floyd to fight Sergio at 160 he wouldn't do it, he let supposedly inferior fighters like Miguel do it. He wont fight GGG at 154, let alone 160. He didn't fight Pac when Pac was FOTD and had momentum of being the best of this era and p4pno1
It will all harm him when he hangs the gloves up.

Floyds more skilled but Hopkins has had the better career just look at his earlier fights he wasn't the dirty fighter we know now. He was actually a machine.

One fighter does not make a career but it would have definitely changed things. But which version are we going to get? By the time they fight, it's going to be too late. Floyd blew it big time ..... but he is not in it for legacy. Floyd is in it for money and health comes first.

Floyd likes to take the relatively less risky fighters. Then just like he tries to hype those fighters up, Floyd will then try to hype up his legacy (TBE). It will definitely work on some of his fans just like it worked on who he fought.

One good example is Ortiz. People remember him beating Berto in an exciting fight. So for some strange reason, that fight translated into him being able to beat Floyd. When you take a closer look, Berto has no defense. Berto knocked down Ortiz twice. Ortiz has quit against Maidana and drew against a weaker version of Floyd, in Peterson.

Speaking of Maidana, same formula. Beat a hyped up fighter who was not ready for WW and you get a fight with Floyd.

...... but Manny needs to go thru hoops to get a fight?

                  Better career? Floyd

                  greater fighter? Hopkins

you have to take on all comers to be great. Losing to them doesnt matter either.

Don't think the word "fighter" could be used for either man. They don't fight they box from a defensive posture and both are probably the most boring well known boxers of all time.
I'll give Bernard the edge because his younger days had decent fights (won or lost) Floyd has had very few good fights and recently has been a bust to watch.
Both should retire now, I do believe Bernard will prosper as a manager or promoter where as Floyd might be in deep as he ages. He needs to remain in Vegas where he can still be recognized to maintain his ego. The ******** has a chance to ruin him!

FWIW, the journalists/historians that voted in the ring rankings had Floyd ahead of Bhop. Both have had amazing, HOF careers. Its close but I agree with ring and would take Floyd.
