I think there are only 2 guys who retired with more than 75 pro fights and were never stopped. James Toney and my man Hector Macho Camacho.
Pretty amazing stat about Hopkins if he retires

No...that was a 12 round split decision.
Only 2 people have gone the distance with Kovelev and those were only 6 & 8 round fights. Really what Hopkins did at almost 50 was better than anyone else 1/2 his age did. He was in over his head and it was pretty clear he would be when he took the fight...but he took it anyways. He took some nasty shots but his face really wasn't beaten up and spoke well and admirably about it in the post fight interview. He's a tough old guy and still could beat 95% of the light heavyweights out there. I hope he retires now...nothing left to prove and an amazing career.Comment

Much respect to B-Hop for surviving long enough to hear the final bell, but he didn't come to win. That first knockdown threw a monkey wrench in his game and knocked whatever will he had to win completely out the ballpark. I'm not saying he should hang em up just yet, but he isn't waking anybody up throwing such a low rate of punches.Comment

Hopkins voluntarily took knees in that fight for over 10 seconds because he couldn't hack the pace = KO.No...that was a 12 round split decision.

Another notch on the great legacy of Joe Cazaghe.Comment

Especially when you consider the fact that he was in 32 world title fights, Compare that to someone like Hagler who was in 13 or 14.That in over 25 years as a pro fighter he was never stopped. I'd imagine throughout history that is a tiny, elite group of people who could say that when it was all said and done.
That's kind of a big deal if you really think about it out of all the random things that can go wrong on any given fight.Comment

Hey congratulations you only had to wait until he was 50 in a unification fight vs one of the hardest punchers in the world lol. It's been a long time coming huh. Finally justified all that bitterness after all these years, Prob telling people I told you so to huh?Comment

You know its only the guys who are rascist a ssholes themselves who get so upset over the white boy comment. Get over it the bitterness is clouding your judgement. By the way he is 49 you idiot. You act like you won some kind of moral victory? You're a joke bro. Anybody would lose if they keep fighting into old age. Anybody, 99.9999% would lose bad way way before turning 50This...
All the trash talk. All the racist stuff in the Calzaghe fight (and on other occasions) about "White boys." He seriously got his ass handed to him last night. Not just "out punched," and "out worked" by the younger man. He got out-foxed, out-thought, out-boxed, everything..
One of the most one-sided beat down, smack downs over 12 rounds we've seen this year.
Haha and before the fight everybody saying "don't make excuses about Kovalev being one-dimensional," and "not being proven," etc., etc. after Hopkins schools yet another one!!! You better give Hopkins all due credit!! Hahahaha and now these people are saying: "BUT HE 49, DOE"!
Hahah just a great night of boxing; I have recorded and is part of my personal collection I will re-watch many times, and show to people what it looks like to get schooled, and get your ass out-boxed... badly... Hopkins 2-1 against White boys!!! HahaComment
