Hopkins couldn't pull the trigger. He didn't have the fast twitch muscles, flexibility and snappiness to do so. He postured for thirty six minutes. He had zero business out there. None.

If you think about it, what could a younger hopkins have done differently or better to change the outcome of this fight?...

He handled kova's punches well so we know his durabilty is out of the question.....footwork was still there ,... speed maybe...or different gameplan?

Kovalev made him not throw with the power and feints early. The fact that he was still able to land counters on the inside in some exchanges proves his reflexes are still there. The best Hopkins would not have beaten Sergei. Accept it.

Hopkins had just as good of reflexes as well as speed as he has had in the last several years...Kovalev was able to implement his game better and keep Bernard on the outside and counter when Bernard would try to rush in. I am a big fan of Hopkins and Sergey has made me a fan-no need to make excuses for Bernard as he himself makes none.

This version of Hopkins can STILL whip Stevenson...imo

It came down to skill and power. All the feints, jab and combination punching was on point. No excuses B Hop fans.

I've never been a hopkins fanboy and i totally agree the man can say wat he wants, but he got old over night body wise...and he also had a scared old mans mentallity as soon as the pressure got on..he was in there thinking "how can my old ass survive this" not how can i win...would a younger b hop win..idk but it would be better than wat i saw from him for sure..it just isnt a logical question bc he would have been a mw prime wise and sergey is 175 in his prime..any fool saying 49 isnt a factor is a goddamn jack ass idk if god himself says it..the man's body just doesnt look like it belongs in a ring..his damn belly sticks out further than his chest..not to say he is fat but he's old and u cant fix that **** when your old
