alot of people can't seem to appreciate the skills it takes being an aggressive fighter who "constantly" stays in dangers way and still dominates and leaves each fight relatively clean

no, apperently it takes more skill doing what lara does which is limiting the exchanges and only being in punching range for 10 seconds out of the 3 minutes per round and barely winning rounds by a single punch because it's way too risky attempting any more of an assault
People who prefer aggressive fighters seem to have a belief that anyone can go out there, be defensive, move, and be economical with their punches. And that aggressive fighters are aggressive by choice. I guarantee you that if the "boring" style of fighting was a 100% full proof way of winning, there's not an aggressive fighter in history that wouldn't go that route.
They don't, because they can't and be successful at a high level. So they do what their skill set allows them to do.

So yes, he deserves credit for beating a top guy in his division. But please, stop acting like this was something special that we saw last night.
Why did you even bother posting that? 100% of your posts are bias towards the same group of fighters.

We already knew who you were rooting for and we already knew what you would say when the other guy won.

It's Sunday morning, you're late for your Jeremiah Wright sermon.

I agree. Not sure how anyone can score a single round for Hop. You DO have to land more meaningful punches than your opponent to win the round.

What does my rooting intrest have to do with anything? Kovalev won. IMO he's the best light heavyweight in boxing. But I'm not ready to put him in the HOF based on beating a 50yr old that used to be great. Don't really see how that's biased.

No you don't. Ever heard of Willie Pep? Look him up. An ATG that is remembered most for winning a round without throwing a punch.

obviously you've never boxed, it's actually the opposite, everyone wants to be more aggressive and hurt their opponent

but there's risk involved in aggression and you have to taper it down, be calm, cool and collected and pick your spots, some guys just take it to the extreme and choose the risk they will take will be at an absolute minimum, they "want" to stop their opponent, but it's risky and they dont trust themselves in that danger, so they miss their chance

when you are hurt in boxing, what do you do? you run, you clinch, you avoid exchanges, sound familiar?

                  • I gotta say I really enjoyed that fight, much like I enjoyed Hopkins outclassing Pavlik. What a performance from Kovalev.

Just what exactly is the "required boxing knowledge"?
