Big Cotto fan
Canelo gets full credit for beating Cotto, theres no excuses, the fight is more interesting now than it would have been a year or two ago. I wouldn't feel let down if Cotto loses, hes fought EVERYONE, and legacy is what Cotto fights for, and hes going to have one of the best resumes of this era. If he was just alittle and not too spent, he would probably take the leap to fight GGG. He wont be punished for it, but he does have to give up his middleweight title, I thought he was one and done with it but now hes holding it hostage, although I understand hes just using it as a bargaining chip to cash out in the twilight of his careerComment

Canelo has always been overated. Beating josesito lopez and alfonzo gomez (140 pounders)at 144 and an overated troutnin texas controversially gotbhim floyd only because of hype and he is mexican.
Cotto has been washed up since margarito and pac beat gim to a pulp. Hasnt done nothing since.
Two c fighters going at it...nothing more.Comment

Yea man, I'm a big fan of both but I have no clue how good they really are. cotto lost to trout who has turned out to be barely above average, is it possible to be completely fixed since that disaster? The guys he's beaten since and the state they were in don't tell me much. And Canelos biggest wins are over trout who's nothing special and Lara who ran from him the whole time. Other than that he's beaten up guys tailor made for him. Looking forward to it regardless, should be exciting.Comment

It seems like every time Cotto loses, there's a "valid" reason behind his losing performance. Whether it's his opponent hitting him with bricks, being weight drained, having an off night, etc.. Etc... Thus, my question arises. Will Cotto fans give Canelo his props for taking down the "Taino King", or will Cotto become past prime and shopworn if he happens to lose, thus removing any ounce of credit for a victory over him?
I can't imagine the pain and anguish it would bring to Cotto fans if he happens to lose his "undefeated" record against a Ginger. Especially seeing as how he is the one dictating the terms of the fight, and according to Cotto fans, is the more gifted and technically sound boxer with a monstrous punch once both men step inside the same ring. After all, Cotto "won" the first six rounds of the fight alone based on the purses. Oh, and if Canelo wins via decision, it would certainly be due to rigged cards and bought judges.

Roach is gonna have Cotto walking into some bull**** loaded up straight right hand or left hook, just watch.
Cotto will get stopped in this fight, 9th or 10th rd
and before ya'll say "well Mosley didn't get stopped by Canelo and he was older and way past his best"
1. Mosley has never been stopped, besides the RTD in the Mundine fight
2. Mosley was gunshy for most of that fight and didn't engage nearly as much as I think Roach will have Cotto doingLast edited by joesaiditstrue; 08-14-2015, 06:02 AM.Comment
