basically gbp will try to change ppv pct, from 55-45 to 50-50, they argue that canelo agreed to take the smaller amount because cotto was the champion...

      • Nobody knows how a fight will go until it happens. I am confident Canelo will win all the rounds and end the fight by KOing Cotto in six rounds or less. Cotto is a very good fighter and he might win but I don't think so.

          • Lets also not forget Cotto is war torn, The guy hasn't really faced quality opposition. The younger, stronger fighter is going to take this.

Common sense prevails, Canelo by destruction. Brutal KO awaits Cotto

Basically Trout beats Cotto, Canelo beats Trout (although I personally had Trout winning by a point so I disagree with the outcome anyway) is some triangle theory **** or w/e so I don't think its THAT meaningful for this fight even if its a common opponent. I don't think either guy has a style that would be very comparable to what Trout does.

Most of Canelo's better opposition in recent years are lighter hitting high level boxers (Trout, Mayweather, Lara-who I feel all beat Canelo), lower weight guys (Lopez), old guys (Mosley) or primitive punchers (Angulo, Kirkland). Cotto is a higher level boxer who can punch. I don't think Canelo has been in with a guy like that. Okay sure he's been "battle tested", if you wanna call it that lol, vs chess masters in the ring. But not by a guy like Cotto. Certainly not on Cotto's level. Styles make fights & I think its possible Cotto's style could give Canelo issues & if it does I suspect he'll get KTFO. Canelo's matches with good to great boxers like Trout, Mayweather & Lara & what he learned in those fights is why I think he'll ultimately win doe.
Cool dude. But I do have to say even though you think Canelo lost all his fights to higher level guys(which I totally disagree). He beat Lara ad trout legitly. It would have been more of a controversy if they had given those fights to them.

Even though you say Canelo will win because of what he learned in his fights with Lara, trout and may, I just don't understand though after all you say about Canelo why you are picking him to win. You say all the higher level light hitting boxers you thought beat Canelo. Then you say Cotto is higher level hard hitting boxer. If Canelo lost in your opinion to all the higher level boxer why would he beat one that can also hit hard.

                • I heard DLH say on "The 3 Knockdown Rule" the other day, that Cotto's throwing up to 300 punches/round in camp. I wonder if he's going taking a similar approach to his rematch with Margarito in this fight. With that said, it sounds like a good strategy, because I don't think it'd be smart to stand right in front of Canelo. But while Canelo's gas tank isn't anything to be celebrating, fighting that way is extremely tiring, and I wonder if he'd be able to do it for 12 rounds.

I'm actually not too sure how this fight goes down. Both guys are excellent Boxer Punchers, who have amazing combinations and finishing ability, but I can't tell if these guys are going to try to knock each other's heads off, or be more cautious and try box the other guy. I can see a scenario where Canelo continues to try and walk Cotto down, and walked into combinations to his head and body that slows him down over 12 rounds, but I can also see a scenario where Canelo, being the bigger guy, walks down and gets the better of Cotto over 12 rounds, and maybe even gets a late KO. I whoever gets going first, and doesn't gas out in the later rounds, will most likely win this fight. So while his gas tank isn't amazing, I think that the younger, bigger, and probably stronger, Canelo will take a decision, even though I'm rooting for Cotto.

                  • So here we go again the man don't get any respect let's take a trip back n history and see who has cotto been in big fights with Chop chop Corley, Zab Judah, Shane Mosley, clottey, margaritto, paquaio, mayweather, ect. ect. And let me remind u 75% of this board thought Martinez would kill him, even he said himself there was no way cotto would go 9 rnds and look what happened

                    Now the opposition Canelo opponents
Mayweather, Trout, and Lara and what do u have, embarrassed by Mayweather, embarrassed by Lara and close win on Trout (which I thought he clearly won) what makes u think he can win only 1 thing Youth

Come Sunday just give my boy his RESPECT

First like I said I feel those 3 fights were learning experiences for Canelo & 2nd I think Cotto isn't as high level as those other guys (he lost to two of them & I suspect Lara would beat him too). If Canelo's defense + chin can deal with Cotto's craftiness + power is the margin of error I have with this fight.
