The team behind super middleweight king Andre Ward (27-0, 14KOs), manager James Prince and legal adviser Josh Dubin, spoke to BoxingScene.com to respond to some recent statements that were made by Oleg Hermann, the manager of IBO/WBA middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin (30-0, 27KOs). Regarding a potential fight between Golovkin and Ward, Hermann says the idea is too risky to pursue - because Ward has ongoing legal issues with his promoter of record, Dan Goossen.
- As I understand Andre Ward this situation with the promoter has lasted for about a year and can last for as much or even more. We have been in this situation, but in parallel sued and continued to do the fighting. Thanks to the tremendous work of the team of lawyers GGG my brother Maxim Germany (pictured right) and his colleagues from Hamburg, we won in the second instance court, and Gennady then became a free agent. Ward swears and condemned calls for a fight, but does not go into the ring, and that's the problem. No one knows how all this will continue. Yes Andre Ward says he's ready, but also Gennady ready to oppose him. Even if we agree on all conditions, without the participation of the promoter is also difficult to see how we can work with Ward, his team and his promoter and untwist a big fight when there is a war between them and the scheduled bout will be at risk every day. The only way - to find a solution themselves. I hope they will solve this problem among themselves in the near future, and we can sit down at the negotiating table. While Ward swears and is suing his promoter, he should not mention the name of GGG and talk about this fight, which he knows, and we know that will not happen in his current position.
Andre Ward may not be fighting much at the moment due to his promotional issues but his name is often brought up as a possible opponent for some of the big names at 160, 168 and 175 pounds. One name in particular that is frequently brought up is WBO Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin. A fight between both undefeated champions has been brewing for some time but the fight has failed to materialize. Ward’s current litigation with promoter Dan Goossen has indeed complicated things even more but he still feels Golovkin and his team need to stop mentioning him if they aren’t serious about fighting him.
NEW YORK – A middleweight championship unification fight against Miguel Cotto probably is the most unlikely of Gennady’s Golovkin’s potential options to actually materialize. Golovkin versus Andre Ward seems to be a close second. While Ward and Golovkin both have said that they’ll fight each other, Golovkin’s promoter made it clear in the aftermath of Golovkin’s third-round knockout of Daniel Geale on Saturday night at Madison Square Garden that the dollars might not make sense for Golovkin or Ward.
WBA Middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin is less than 2 weeks away from headlining his first fight at Madison Square Garden in New York when he takes on what most people consider his biggest challenge in Daniel Geale. With Golovkin’s fight looming, Super Middleweight kingpin Andre Ward said in a recent interview that he feels Golovkin is ducking him as a fight between both fighters has often been discussed but has not come close to becoming a reality. When BoxingScene spoke to Golovkin at his media day in Los Angeles, he was asked what his reaction was to Ward’s claim.
Andre Ward may not have fought in the ring since November of last year but he’s still been fighting outside of it trying to break free from his current promoter Goossen Tutor. There is a pending lawsuit filed in the California Superior Court and while both sides had agreed to continue working together during the proceedings, no fights have been made. When looking at Ward’s options, some have said a move to Light Heavyweight is the next logical move as many feel Ward has exhausted his options at Super Middleweight. But Ward points to the fact that the options are even more limited 7 pounds north.
Here is where GGG & Chavez Jr. fell through and Ward told GGG's Team that he was ready and able ...... Team GGG never responded and went in another direction.

Dude, it was a gimme. HBO only pushed Rodriguez because Ward wanted even worse fighters without compromising his 2 million dollar payday. Rodriguez was the lowest they were willing to accept for that price tag. He was never supposed to be a real fight for Ward.Ward just made it look like a Gimme, Edwin Rodriguez was the one running his mouth, he was in some Tournament overseas and he was saying after he won the Tournament he want Ward and I guess he thought Ward would forget that he called him out. HBO is the one pushed for Edwin Rodriguez and end up overpaying Edwin to make that fight happen. But Edwin wasn't pick by any stretch to be a "Gimme Fight". He was on a roll at the time and he was undefeated coming into that fight so the fight actually MADE SENSE at the time.Comment

http://www.boxingscene.com/andre-war...in-more--77544ON OCTOBER 28, 2014"Unfortunately, for us, there are lot of talkers, masquerading and pretending to want to fight. But all those so called stars are just talking and not making legitimate offers. Andre Ward, his management and his attorney are talking but only doing that, talking. It's a smoke screen, only to stay boxing-relevant."
I told Sanchez I still hoped to hear back from Ward co-promoter Antonio Leonard, who I called last week.
"And then he can call Tom Loeffler (Golovkins' promoter), and Leonard will understand who needs who and how negotiable they will be. I repeat, like I said, "smoke screen," staying boxing relevant."
Sanchez was now on a roll, his flurries were fluid and sharp***8230;
"Miguel Cotto doesn't make it out of the fifth round, and he knows it," the trainer told me. "Canelo doesn't make it out of the eighth round, and his people know it. Andre Ward doesn't make it out of the 10th round, and that's why they lost your digits."
By the way, I asked a Ward spokesman on Monday if Ward wanted to touch on some of this material but so far, no reply***8230;.
"Remember when Ward had Chad Dawson come down to him, and refused to go up to 175 for a rematch," Sanchez said. "His attorney I recall put out a release saying he would be willing to come down to Triple G, it's a smoke screen. They need to follow up, call Tom Loeffler , maybe they lost his numbers also. When Ward or Leonard call you, please give them Loeffler's number, we need number twenty for sometime in May."

Rodriguez beat the living crap out of Grachev, who upset Sillakh by TKO and damn near beat Bute. Rodriguez has better wins than Green, it's not even debatable who is better. And Rodriguez isn't a gimme fight for anybody, I can see E-Rod beating Golovkin similar to Grachev, in later rounds. At 168+. E-Rod beats most SMW's especially #2 and #3 Abraham and Stieglitz.Comment
