Margarito never prime at 154, he spend his prime and almost all of his career at 147

but ginger boy fight at 147 before so if the fight is at 147 there is no way ginger gonna win. it will be total war and margo stop him at the 11th or 12th

Prime Margarito, only a select few can muster up what it takes to beat that version of margarito, and Canelo I think will fold late.

Nah, Canelo is a very strong boxer, much mightier than Margarito, he's just tall.

The only reason Canelo got schooled so badly by Floyd is because he's young and never fought at that level and could not find an answer to the speed+reflexes of Floyd. Canelo is fast offensively but not tactical enough to trap Floyd.

Margarito would be no problem for him. I can see Canelo getting past him and hammering the wasp like mid section of Margarito.

Canelo would have all the physical advantages literally, it's not even wise to say Canelo might fade when it's Margarito who's gonna be eating all the shots, especially to the body. Margarito doesn't get the luxury that he's accustomed fighting at 154 and certainly not against Canelo.

Angulo is a way closer comparison than Cintron at least lol.

And I see what you mean, Vegas but we can't take credit from what Canelo did to Angulo. We can't just say it was Angulo looking lethargic without taking into account that he was likely made to look that way by Nelo. I feel Canelo is too defensively sound with his physical advantages to let Marg be effective. Marg quite frankly can't walk him down, nor would Canelo need to go back much. Canelo is just too fast and powerful with his combinations. He doesnt need to clinch like Cotto in the 2nd fight because he can get Marg to reset without clinching (with big punches and stiff pot shots). Cotto has never been that durable or a prolific counter puncher. While Cotto retreats, he doesnt really fight. That's why he lost the first fight (plaster possibility aside) because he made a tactical error thinking he had to get away from Marg when the opposite was true. Hit marg, clinch to make him reset and use the legs to give him an angle to keep him from chaining punches together then clinch, repeat (like the 2nd fight)..as opposed to his all in then retreat til he did it again approach or was forced thus expending more than he was used to. Canelo though can fight off his defense and even be defensive in the pocket when he wants to. Whereas Cotto's defense vs Marg 1 was to stay as far away as possible, Canelo stays there and counters. This isnt to say Nelo is better than Cotto but rather its a styles thing.

Most exhanges would look like..Marg walking forward, Nelo shoots a stiff jab, Marg catches it on the gloves, takes a half step forward and eats a right while his lead foot comes back..resetting.. CAnelo outfights him at any range and will keep him at the range he desires. Marg will eat some nasty uppers and short left hooks (Canelo has a pretty mean and under appreciated inside game) at close range and will be hopelessly pot shotted from mid to longer range. He'll get his punches in but when he does theyll likely look as bad as Angulos. Margarito is just TOO slow. Canelo isnt the most explosively mobile guy but he uses his feet well in addition to an ever improving sense of distance. This is at 154, i dont even think plaster helps Rito. Honestly, Marg lost to the good fighters who didnt run from him.. Shane, Cotto 2, Pac, And even P Will. Marg isnt the boogyman everyone made him out to be. He had a style that could seemingly and only potentially have troubled Floyd at 147..but thats about it.

I am a huge Margarito fan and am not yet convinced on Canelo.

That said, I think Canelo takes him apart in much the same way Cotto did in his re-match.

It is a good fight regardless.

Idk how to even judge Margarito.

Might have been similar to Marg's second fight with Cotto but at a faster pace
