Very good fighter in his own right @ his weight but didn't really have the resume to back it up.
And I would say that Corrales was closer to his Prime around the Castillo fights, 4 years after facing Floyd.Comment

People overrate Corrales. Look at it this way. Corrales at the point Mayweather beat him in his career would be like Mayweather fighting & beating Thurman now.

i love how you pac fans like to bring that up but never like to bring up the fact that cotto arguably lost clottey and most likely got his face beat in with bricks prior to fighting pacquiao. corrales was a beast, pacf@gs talk about corrales as if he wasn't a p4p fighter and a potential hof'er.Comment

Corrales was severely weight drained for the Floyd fightComment

Corrales was not Top 5 P4P, no chance.
That'd be like saying Mikey Garcia is Top 5 P4P now, which clearly isn't true.
And P4P lists can severely overrate people. Like Floyd in late 90's or Broner in early '10's.Comment

Yes, he was. If you'd like to argue that those lists overrate fighters, sure. But Corrales was a pound for pounder when he fought Mayweather. Rated higher than Mayweather by The Ring. Corrales flattened Garcia for the title, then stopped Gainer and Manfredy among others. Flattened a very tough John Brown that a lightweight (read: bigger) Mosley needed nine rounds to stop on his feet in a respectable showing for Brown. Corrales was a beast and he proved it pre and post Mayweather. Thurman is just not there and that's a ****ty comparison.Comment
