In no way, shape, or form was or is Hopkins ready at any point of his career for what Kovalev brings to the ring. That's my opinion, and on Saturday night we will see what happens when they fight. Let me be clear, Kovalev destroys Hopkins. As we haven't a time machine to match peak Hopkins against peak Kovalev, we'll have to be satisfied with what we get on Saturday night; however, I maintain that Hopkins has never faced an opponent who is as complete a boxer yet also hits as hard as Sergey, and in addition, Hopkins has never faced an opponent who is as immune to his bag of tricks as is Sergey Kovalev.

A prime Hopkins was too small for Kovalev.

B Hop is going to make this look easy. He is my favorite fighter and I like Tim a lot also. Kovalev is a counter punchers dream. Hopkins has one of the best chins in boxing!

Hopkins has always looked sensational against guys like Kovalev, it's the fast and athletic guys that have always given him fits.

Really, at no point of his career? Has Kovalev shown that he is immune to experience? Bring on Frankenstein.

I'm sure a prime Hopkins could have moved to 175 without too much trouble considering he did so at age 41 and destroyed Tarver.

Maybe... with the help of some gear. I took it that B Hops was having some trouble making 160 by the end of his reign anyway.

not to mention he started boxing as a light heavyweight.
