    The double standard is immense.

Kovalev already beat a top three fighter in his weight class almost two years ago in Campillo, which far outweighs anything Wilder has ever done in his career.

Most title defenses as World Middleweight Champion (20), surpassing Carlos Monzon.

Oldest fighter ever to hold the World Middleweight Championship (40 years, 6 months, and 1 day), surpassing Sugar Ray Robinson.

He was a mere alphabet alphabet titleist for six of those ten years. The amount of years and number of title defences are pretty irrelevant unless you've properly established yourself as the number one fighter in your weight class, which Hopkins only did after beating Trinidad.

No credit. Never ceases to amaze me.

It seems like a majority of people who make Pavlik comparisons don't mention that Pavlik fought BHOP at LHW, not MW. Look at Pavlik's record above 160 and you'll see that his power was nothing special, as well into his career he was taken the distance by mediocre fighters without showing much power and he pounded on clubfighter Scott Sigmon for 7 rounds but couldn't drop him.

People talk about Hopkins negating power, but at LHW Pavlik didn't have that much power for him to negate. Hopkins is older now, he's shown he can be hurt by someone like Pascal, Kovalev is significantly bigger than Pavlik, and he's been wrecking top 5-15 guys at LHW while Kelly was winning lackluster decisions against Alfonso Lopez and Will Rosinsky at 168; I can't imagine them going ten with Kovalev.
