At what point did you realise Mayweather was a top 10 ATG?

Well who exactly is the best though? (Okey there's one obvious person regarding that, buy beyon that). Everyone you've listed you've found some sort of defect with them, but they've all been world champions at the time he's fought them. . .IE. Mosely was old.... I'm almost certain Mosely didn't want the fight with Floyd when they both were younger, either way Mosely was coming off a victory to Margarito. . . and even before the fight was announced people said he wouldn't take it, same with Canelo. . . But as soon as the fight is announced and Floyd wins, all of a sudden excuses come flying in from every angle.

If he fought GGG at 154, and beat him (hypercritically speaking) immediately we'd here "Well he didn't fight him at 160"
Ok extreme example but a more realistic one, most recently, if he fought Khan it would be a cherry pick, ends up fighting Maidana and now apparently he's ducking Khan?. . . Whoever Floyd doesn't fight he's ducked seems to be the consensus amongst the skeptics.

We can talk about prime til the cows come home, but just when is the cut off period for prime fighters? it differs for every fighter, but if we settle on a generic age of 30, that would mean Ricky Hatton was Mayweather's last prime opponent 7 years ago for him.

      • Right on cue!!!

The same guys with the same negative rap flood every Floyd thread. You would think after a few years of doing the same mindless shit over & over, that you wouldn't be that involved anymore - Guess I couldn't be more wrong.

        • When he came back in 10 and beat Mosely then Pacquiao. Wait...

The irony is when he makes a come back we're supposed to honor him with additional greatness for being at a "disadvantage."
he gets accolades for retiring and avoiding tough competition. he gets his ppv numbers whenever he comes back. he's the most deserving guy in the sport. let's all bow down to his greatness.

            • Top 10 ATG ducker. I'd put him in the Top 5.

floyd was an atg at super featherweight, arguably the best ever and without hesitation top 3. when he beat corrales in the fashion he did he put a stamp on it, that was that. atg.

then going through the weight classes beating champion after champion, HOFer after HOFer and usually with ease. idk if he is top 10 but he is easily top 15 imo.

people like to nitpick but you could do that with basically any fighter, they all have something going against them. that doesnt mean the good things never happened, you have to take the good with the bad and judge the fighters career as a whole. doing so there is no doubt mayweather is one of the best who ever did it.
This is one of the greatest post I've ever read

                • He is ATG for sure. Top 10? Don't know. He is viewed as the master ducker. And when he does fight he has so many conditions like gloves etc. If he belonged in the era of the 4 horsemen he would have been a nobody as he would have ducked them all.

                    • If he didn't duck so many guys & actually beat them all, he'd maybe make the top 10. But right now I don't think he'd even make the top 25. He's definitely somewhere in the top 50 though to be fair due to how skillful a fighter he is. But sadly he's insecure about his own abilities.
