A lot of posters here were saying Mora is a fighter they'd give GGG credit for beating.

Mora is tricky and pretty defensive. He's opened up more, albeit to lesser competition.

I think GGG beats him if he puts it on.... let's not pretend somebody pushing Mora around wouldn't also trouble him.

Too bad he signed with Haymon... pretty much kills all possibility of this fight. He has other MW's in the Haymon stable to fight... all depends on if Haymon will let him fight them though.

Only reason HBO is banning Haymon fighters is because HBO wants long term contracts for everyone who fights on the network. I could probably see them enforcing this rule on fighters who have half a chance of beating their current network staples. But guys like Mora where they're confident Golovkin would win, I don't see why HBO would care. They can talk with Dibella, who HBO has good relationship with.

3; Backtrack when fight is signed and say opponent is the best available and big up their accomplishments after spending 9 months mocking how poor they are.

4; Celebrate win like he'd just beaten a prime Hagler
It's too bad they decided to make an exception to step #4 for Proksa after Mora schooled him. They had no choice because they had to fit Mora in step #2 somehow.

HBO was willing to take the Quillin-Korobov fight when Roc Nations bought it. Nobody can blame HBO for getting upset when they were paying top dollar to give Canelo & Broner developmental fights and then GB/AH took them to Showtime for more competitive fights. That said, if Golovkin had chosen Jacobs/Quillin/Lara for his Monaco fight, HBO would've bought it. Team Golovkin passed on Mora last year instead of Adama because they didn't want to take the chance he'd stink out the fight like he did with Mosely.

I do assume this idiot will have his Boxing license revoked for comparing himself to Sugar Ray Leonard.

Mora has always been a tricky guy to look good against, if GGG can knock him out that's another cap he can add to himself. At least Mora won't go down like Rubio, in fact I don't think Mora is a lesser name to have on your resume than Rubio.

But the truth is sergio although I admire your heart and willingness to fight anyone you are not sugar ray and golovkin aint hagler. They are two totally different levels and classes of fighters. You will never be ray and golovkin will never be hagler. The comparison is actually a bit of boxing blasphemy in many respects. But I would still like to see that fight because I think you would come to fight and not lay down and your awkward style could present some problems for golovkin, not sure you can win though, if nothing but because of boxing politics.
