Marquez was not a popular fighter before he strictly boxed, he changed his style and look at him now. Golovkin is from Kazakhstan and look at the following he has garnered because of his "Mexican style". Gamboa is from Cuba and he was very popular when he was rising up the ranks and knocking people out. When Jack Dempsey fought Gene Tunney, even when he got beat, people still liked him more than Tunney because of his style. No one gives a **** about his Rigo's nationality, you need to deal with that.
Rigo is tremendously skilled, when I watched him fight Donaire I was in awe of his skills, but you have to undestand that as great as he looks, if he simply coasts to a decision the fight will get boring. Rigo vs Agbenko (or whatever his name is) literally put me to sleep for a few minutes, Rigo completely outclassed Agbenko and yet refused to apply some pressure when the guy obviously has no fight in him. If he wants to become more popular he needs to take more risks, simple as that.
