I hope Pac only UD Algeiri. If Pac brutally KO's Algeiri the fight with Floyd would never happen.

very true. but i think 147 would have been even better for algieri. people don't know but algieri is 170-180 lbs in between his fights. if it wasn't for his expert knowledge in nutrition he wouldn't be able to make 140 at all. the fact that he is able to make 140 so easily is amazing and shows how much of an expert he is.Last edited by Divine Hammer; 10-27-2014, 01:05 PM.Comment

it's true. it was in an fitness article somewhere where he talks about cutting weight and that his usual walk around weight is in the high 170s. he's a big guy who rehydrates at least 25-30 lbs on fight night.
this will probably be the biggest guy pac has ever fought. the second biggest being margarito. but both guys are about the same height/size (i think algieri might be slightly taller than margarito and have a longer reach).Comment

I wouldn't call Algieri a no-hoper, but I feel you - there's a lot more viable opponents he could have picked: Garcia, Thurman, Porter/Brook winner, etc.
But Algieri, fair play to him, did beat one of the guys who was considered a name in the hunt for a Pac fight in Provo.
I don't tihnk many would be complaining if he fought Provo if the script went to plan.
At least Algieri is not flat footed, and has such great advantages in important areas like height and reach.
Stylistically, I tihnk this fight is kind of interesting...
We still don't really kn ow exactly how good ALgieri is, but we know he's NOT a bum.Comment

I doubt he moves from 180 to 140 that's a lot to loose and maintain strength.
This fight is about Manny getting down a few pounds and getting speed and a working plan in order. He needs to press this guy but as a boxer not a slugger.
If he can press this kid to move to the left into his left this could get ugly quick. However this kid has length in stride and reach and if he can move freely to his left this might get interesting. Chris is a smart boxer with skills and he showed guts against Li' Rock to survive a very bad injury and do well enough to win. It showed he has character and a cool head under fire.
This comes down to Chris being able to beat Manny's left with his right!
If Manny can't steam roll this kid early he will be in for a boxing match, maybe.
I like the match up its interesting.

He doesn't rehydrate no damn 30 pounds on fight night... probably like 15-20.it's true. it was in an fitness article somewhere where he talks about cutting weight and that his usual walk around weight is in the high 170s. he's a big guy who rehydrates at least 25-30 lbs on fight night.

But I believe he absolutely walks around at about 175 between fights.
He boils down every bt of fat he possibly can to make 140. It's pretty obvious to me the dude is huge at 140, and quite large for 147.Comment
