Freddie Roach is the King of the Cherry Pick. Everytime I turn around one of his fighters is cherry picking and its usually for a major title.

Latest ex. Cotto Martinez. Roach is not shy about letting it be known either. He will tell you himself that the opponent is washed up or not in his fighers league.

Does this make him a good or bad trainer?

A coach doesn't cherry pick. A coach looks like ideal match ups but at the end of the day, the fighter has to agree to the fight. Is Roach a loud mouth? Certainly. Does that mean he is not a good trainer? Absolutely not. While it is disrespectful, I think it is just his way of him trying to minimize the competition and build his own fighters confidence.
