I like Golovkin, but I would have to go with Ward on this one.

Ward has the skills to put on a boxing clinic against GGG. 10-2 type of fight maybe 9-3, with the rounds won by Golovkin due to aggression, not necessarily clean punches landed. Golovkin is effective at what he does, against the calibre of opponents he's been up against but against a guy like Ward, he'd be made to look pretty one dimensional.

Please don't compare Golovkin to Froch, just because they both have power it doesn't mean they are the same. GGG's skills and footwork are levels above Froch.

As for now Ward is the favourite and rightfully so, but I believe we haven't seen the best Golovkin yet.

This fight is a big question mark, Ward would be the best fighter Golovkin ever fought and VICE VERSA.

Too close to call. Abraham's jab stunted Dre early on, and he only stopped throwing it because he's Abraham and has no stamina. GGG's jab would be a problem for Ward, who attacks primarily in straight lines, before doing some lateral flairs on occasion. And Lol@comparing GGG to Froch.

Froch fights nothing like Golovkin. I encourage Ward supporters to rewatch the first three rounds of Ward-Abraham. Abraham fought a come forward style behind a jab and had success with Andre, even hurting him in the third and landing good shots in the first & second. It was a much cruder form of what Golovkin has perfected. That wasn't Abraham's natural style and he gassed badly by the fourth. Golovkin is very much a threat to Ward, a guy who lacks power and has been shown to get hurt badly.

GGGs power is exceptional, his footwork is very good and his punch variety is up there with the best of them but in Kessler and Froch, Ward has two stand out divisional names on his resume and he handled one of them with spectacular ease. Can Ward be hurt though? Yes he can. Can GGG, the shorter guy, get in range to hurt him? He has the skill to do so. Is Ward's defence good enough to not get hit enough and is his offense good enough to out point GGG and knick rounds? I think so.

Ward wins a close decision imo.

Agree with most of that. I think the fight happens though. Unless Kovalev beats Hopkins and HBO drive a truckload of money to Ward's house to make that happen first.

I don't like the layoff for Ward so if he gets a couple tune-up fights, I think he would be ready. I have to go with Ward. I see him using all his skills to neutralize some of the power and rhythm of what GGG does and that is no disrespect to GGG because I think he can continue to rule at 160. But nothing would surprise me. Okay, that's a lie.....I would be surprised if I woke up tomorrow with my head crazy glue to the carpet and pink elephants were dancing on my chest.....but nothing in Boxing surprises me.
