Ward has the skills to put on a boxing clinic against GGG. 10-2 type of fight maybe 9-3, with the rounds won by Golovkin due to aggression, not necessarily clean punches landed. Golovkin is effective at what he does, against the calibre of opponents he's been up against but against a guy like Ward, he'd be made to look pretty one dimensional.

Im going with GGG. Lets see how Ward chin holds up when he gets hit with a puncher like GGG. Ward might frustrate GGG at times, But at the end Ward will be by runnung for his life. Either way its a good matchup.

Tought fight to call, is Ward makes the fight dirty with holding, headbutts and whatnot, then it may be a tough night for Gennady. Saying that, Golovkin appears to be natrually strong, able to push people like Chavez around with ease, so I see Golovkin clipping ward like Boone did, but finishing the job.

I think both are excellent boxers, and I think GGG has the ability to box swiftly like in the amateurs, but doesn't because it 1) isn't needed right now and 2) it's boring. In the end, if it turns into a boxing match then GGG has something Ward doesn't, game breaking power.

I think Ward is stylistically wrong for Gennady.
              He either becomes the
              Slayer of Golovkin
              or the
              Son of Golovkin

As I said earlier I'd definitely pick Ward but IF GGG would somehow pull off the win, 'Son of Golovkin' would be a great new name for Ward.

Or another good one would be...

GGGs power is exceptional, his footwork is very good and his punch variety is up there with the best of them but in Kessler and Froch, Ward has two stand out divisional names on his resume and he handled one of them with spectacular ease. Can Ward be hurt though? Yes he can. Can GGG, the shorter guy, get in range to hurt him? He has the skill to do so. Is Ward's defence good enough to not get hit enough and is his offense good enough to out point GGG and knick rounds? I think so.

Ward wins a close decision imo.

                    Fight never happens though.

The best version of Ward would be a slight favour at 168 - I would say 60:40..

North of 168 I think Gennady TKO/KO him.
