Froch & Hearn (Froch's promoter) both flat out said Golovkin was "too dangerous" for Froch at this stage of his career and admitted they turned down the offer.

Froch has been admirably honest about just wanting a finale fight with a big name, "game" opponent like Chavez Jr., not starting up a new campaign for ranking/titles.

Ward is not fighting anyone and is locked in a losing legal battle with a company run by a recently deceased man.

So who at 168? Groves? Abraham? People would give Golovkin as much credit for those as they gave him for Geale.

      Miguel isn't fighting Golovkin.

With Sergio, Freddie Roach did what he always does and saw a fighter who was faded, he took that fight for Miguel because Sergio was physically shot. Golovkin is in his prime, he's a monster and he will demolish the smaller Miguel....Freddie doesn't like fights in which his guy doesn't have the advantages.

This fight will NEVER happen and Cotto would NEVER fight him.

As much as I loved Cotto in his prime, ever since his loss to Pacman, he has just been a Business.

Cotto hand picks his opponents to suit his business needs. Ever since he fought Yuri Foreman, that was it.....and Cotto has been impeccable from a business sense ever since.

He went from beating grandpa Mayorga and retired / eye injured Margarito to Mayweather ...BOOM. Huge dollars and very very smart!

The same with Martinez, good luck to him, he won, but Cotto is business, so from a business perspective he is going to fight the fighter who gives him the most dollars and with the least/limited risk.

He ain't going to want anything of GGG. The same for any of the other Middle Weight Champs -- with the exception of maybe Jermain Taylor, but even that doesn't bring much money and I think going from Martinez to Taylor would be a geriatric run!

No, they want to have it both ways.

They want to proclaim him "the" guy at 160, yet still be able to say he's too small for GGG.

          ****ing idiots lol

Canelo will get in the ring with GGG , it will be a gooooooooodddd fight

            Chavez Jr will fight GGG

May jr will try to fight Taylor and claim THE BEST EVER hahahahahahahaha

The Build up for Ward is coming
Scary thought, worse thing is you wouldn't bet against it.

Cotto needs to vacate if he does not intend on fighting Canelo or GGG next,Canelo is huge money so I got no problems with that, plus i got no desire to see a man die against GGG.

Legacy achieved give the belt up,you're a JMW fight Canelo and call out Mayweather if you win,no shame in avoiding a guy who is knocking out 180 pound guys in two rounds.a GGG fight wouldn't even be competitive.

Murray vs GGG for the vacant WBC has appeal if a Cotto or Canelo fight can't be made, then move up to SM,looks like GGG will go after a fight with the winner of the proposed Cotto and Canelo though huh ?

              This.

You have people calling Cotto the 160 champ. Some people rating cotto as number 1 and GGG no. 2 which is pathetic when they then turn around and say ... oh no I don't want to see the fight though cause poor miguel doesn't have a chance. Either Cotto fights GGG or ***s off out of it back down to welter and quits pretending to be the middleweight champion.

it's a shame when the lineal title is now basically a paper title with the guy holding it running from the best at the weight.

He just won the belt in June, and now he is fighting Canelo in a fight where he will make multiple times more money that what he'd made with GG. I don't see what is so wrong about that. Canelo is a dangerous fighter in his own right. Best believe after that fight Cotto will vacate the belt unless Mayweather wants it. He is not going to try and fight GG anytime soon.

It's not about Cotto. It's about Golovkin being the best middleweight in the world for 2 years and being refused his chance to make it official. I don't care if it's Martinez or Cotto or whoever, the "MW champion" needs to step up and take their ass kicking from the real MW champion.

If Cotto is some small junior middleweight that shouldn't fight Golovkin, which I do agree about, then he needs to drop the belt and let Golovkin fight someone else for it.

Even if K2 offered miguel a huge wad of cash for the fight and GGG offered to give Cotto his purse i still doubt Cotto would take the fight.
