Maybe he was, but i pretty much doubt it.

Pavlik hit Rubio with everything and made Rubio quit on his stool. But he didn't seriously hurt him at any time. Neither did Lemieux, who we know is a big puncher.

I'm getting convinced that the Rosado fight (the only guy so far in his HBO run who he couldn't at least knockdown) was a fluke and that he is the biggest P4P puncher in boxing. The punches he threw tonight against Rubio didn't even seem to have that much body behind them, specially that strange angle left hook that landed on the forehead...

It was a bad stoppage, he would've just barely have beaten the count but the ref counted 9-10 in like half a second and stopped the fight. He has nobody to blame but himself for over exaggerating though.

Fight was only going one way regardless, Golovkin's punches were too accurate.

I timed it. The count wasn't fast, it was spot on. Rubio starts to get up at 9.5 and then wants to blame the ref for stopping it. Give me a break.

Someone posted the rules after Matthysse/Ortiz about this, and it says you have to be on your feet, standing, at 10. Rising is not up.

I like fights that last longer than 2 rounds. Maybe I'm the only one here like that. Yeah, Rubio was gonna lose, but so what. Let the guy go out there again. He!!, could've gotten into the 3rd at least. Geez, what's the rush? Yes, GGG is a solid boxer and heavy puncher. No, he isn't the most amazing thing to enter the ring. He CAN be hit, EASILY, unlike a prime Tyson.

It will be interesting though, to see him in there with Cotto. Both can be hit easily, and both are solid boxers with serious power. It would be one of the bigger MW fights ever, maybe even on a level with Hagler/Hearns.
