i mute almost all post fight interviews these days. they're painfully awkward, and kellerman does little to control the awkwardness. i got through walters' interview, and thought he was a charming guy. i don't think he meant disrespect, but suggesting that a once great fighter should be his sparring partner will obviously seem disrespectful.

walters is the real deal. dude has skills, and i like his personality. nice, humble kid. grteat accent, too. had me rolling.

I don't think the intent was maleovolent though. I mean he was basically you are good and fast and you could help me with fast fighters. It wasn't like saying he was a bum but the words were wrong. Remember they are boxers, not politicians.

Regarding Donaire, I think when you hit your 30's and you are small you much more likely to be a bit past prime quicker.

Honestly what surprised me most wasn't Walters jab, power or boxing ability it was his chin.

Nonito can punch and Walters for the most part took some flush shots very well.

I've been critical of Donaire in the past over his arrogance, but he'll always have my respect. His 24/7 365 voluntary random testing is unparalleled to any athlete in any sport. And his reaction after this loss is nothing but admirable. It's easy to act all humble after a win. It takes real character showing it after a loss. The ego is such an unpredictable thing.

            **** Donaire........

Donaire is a coward and doesn't have the heart of a champion. He's an embarrassment to the sport. I hope he retires. A sign of what was to come, was when he said he loved boxing BUT it wasn't his life. You see the result of boxing not being a fighter's "life".

More about content than intent , his chin held up but he was maybe 1 shot away from being put away so that leaves the door open and lets be honest vulnerability is great with big punchers , actually his defense overall was better than I thought it might be he blocked/dodged a lot of those shots.

Donaire looked FANTASTIC the first...2 rounds when he was patient and countered. He hurt Axe man and immediately became to aggressive. Lack of discipline.

Donaire is good, just not great...

I like Donaire, always have, and I agree he's a really good, good fighter, he's just not an ATG like his fellow countryman (who's name need not even be mentioned). I hope to see him beat some sort-of featherweight just so he can get that 4th division title (though it will have to be a B/C class fighter). He can still dominate the lower weights but he will always be very distant when comparing greatness to Pacquiao...

Yea I agree. I cringed every time he repeated that poor choice of words. He said it like 4 times. I'm sure Rachel let him hear it about that.
