Comments Thread For: Nicholas Walters Makes Statement, Knocks Donaire Out

StubHub Center, Carson, California - In a battle for the undisputed WBA featherweight crown, 'regular champion' Nicholas Walters (25-0, 21KOs) got a career defining win with a massive bomb that took out 'super champion' Nonito Donaire (33-3, 21KOs) in the sixth round.

Walters controlled the first with his long reach. In the second, Donaire was putting together the better punches and landing his power hooks to the head and body. At the end of the second they were trading punches and hard hook rocked Walters, shaking up his legs. Donaire was stalking and pounding Walters with hard shots in the third. But in the final twenty seconds Walters scored a knockdown with an uppercut up the middle. They traded shots in the final ten seconds.

Donaire is done. His heart isn't in it anymore. Rigo messed him up mentally.

Cong**** to Walters I was rooting for him but thought Nonito would win. Its interesting that just after Lampley and co. mentioned that in the Darchinyan fight Nonito wanted to quit and than the knockout came.

After U. Bolt... I would have had Walters tested for PEDs js... Was there testing for this fight?

                    sucks

Too bad for Donaire. Seems like he got scared after he got knocked down the first time. Was that a punch to the back of the head?
