I think a lot of people just don't like Donaire's personality. He's sort of goofy and nerdy and dresses like a 15 year old skater boy. He's atypical for a boxer, would possibly be more liked by MMA fans.

I've never had a problem with him myself. Not every fighter needs assault convictions and a menacing scowl on show at all times.

Or maybe people don't like him because of his lame excuses after a fight didn't go the way he wanted. That has nothing to do with him being goofy or nerdy which I don't even see in him.

I don't have a problem with him but you can't make him out to be an innocent nerd. That's not him.

I also think he's not 100% not into boxing. But does it because it pays well. Where else can he make something like 1.32 million for one night especially for a short little American-Filipino. Donaire knows this, so he continues on.

He got into boxing because his family was a boxing family and wanted approval from his father.

Donaire gets by on his talent some fights rather than dedication. It shows.

Since reuniting with his father, he might have one last push in his career.

Donaire and Chavez Jr. are similar in some ways. Talented guys with boxing running in the fam. It's just motivation with these guys.

As if that's an incredibly unique attribute in boxing.

Lots of fighters offer a string of excuses when they lose. JMM whines his ass off every time. That doesn't mean they get the kind of hate Donaire gets. And he's only lost once in the last decade.

That's not true. Other fighters get the same or more hate than Donaire for a variety of reasons including excuses. That includes Marquez.

                      This.

I normally don't pay attention to what threads people wear, but Donaire seems more interested in using boxing as a platform to express his taste in teenage fashion than he does in being a boxer.
