It might have seemed 'poor', due to the dominance of Vladimir. He makes his opponents look less than they are, like great champions do. Don't confuse yourself.

How many HOF's are on Wladimir's resume?

watch boxing more boy, the division ain't the worse it's ever been. I twas far worse at two separate points in history. in the period between 1983-1986 and then from 2004-2009.

If Wlad was to retire today, we'd see a scramble for the titles between guys like Fury, Pulev, Povetkin, Stiverne, Wilder, maybe even Huck and Chisora. A few years down the line, we'd say AJ get his crack. There may even be some unification between limited but evenly matched opponents who set up exciting fights.

It may just get exciting again

Arguably Byrd and Haye (if CW is included).

But don't be mistaken. Wlad and Vitali are the sole reason there was no other fighters that would be considered HOF. If Wlad gone to war with let's say povetkin and it ended up with trilogy, povetkin might be a candidate for HOF.

the overall quality will go way down, but the parody and excitement will go up.

i predict that HW champioship fights will be back on american TV in a year.

wladimir klitschko is one of hte most boring fighters of all time. it's freaking ridiculous to expect a casual fan to watch or enjoy that. they'll probably never watch a boxing match again.

Please, none of those guys you mentioned are hardly considered great heavyweights. Compare them to names like Lewis, Holyfield, Tyson, Bowe, etc. This era of heavweights stink. It looks like it'll come down to who's the best of a mediocre crop of fighters.

I don't see it. You have low standards for HOF status.

Alex Lepai was a lock for the Hall of Fame before Wladimir took his soul

Two things strike me here. Americans think they truly reflect the world, so if they say the division sucks, then it must suck.. However outside the USA Heavy weight fights are still the main event.
And Americans are so fucking insecure and can't deal with not being number 1 at everything.. When they aren't.. The first thing they do is malign whatever they are not number one at and then act like they don't care. When they are number one.. It suddenly matters again.

It gets boring after a while.
                      Absolutely true!
