Comments Thread For: Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Parts Ways With Manager Keane

WBC middleweight champion Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is no longer being represented by Billy Keane, who was managing the boxer since 2010. Keane had a very tense relationship with Top Rank's CEO Bob Arum, who felt the manager was destroying the fighter's career. Chavez is still involved in a legal dispute with Top Rank. He claims his promotional contract expired last month and Top Rank claims Chavez owes them one more fight and has until April of 2016 to satisfy that obligation.

He'll sign with Haymon if he wants the big fights. He'd be ****** not to. Haymon is about to flip the boxing game upon it's head.

So he passed up 17 million dollars for 2 PPV fights, to maybe sign with Haymon who's biggest payday he's given out (aside from Floyd) is like a million dollars. Chavez, I smoke probably as much as weed as you do man and I haven't fried my head that bad.

He'll get to fight JMW like Lara and Angulo at 168 for 7 figures.

Al Haymon is the future. Bring this freak show to NBC, the audience will eat it up.

I'm just guessing here.. but it could very much be because Haymon, somehow, gets BIG paydays and TV time to fight tomato cans... so in my point of view.. Chavez Jr.. is gonna fight the Salka's and Guerrero's.. for not as much money as the *** offered him, but safer.. for a long career.. remember Floyd.. "not here to fight to see who the best is".. it's business..

Floyd makes $32 million a fight because he did do that at one point in his career so he can get anyway with it now (not anymore though.) No one wants to pay to see Chavez fight unless it's a big name so it would take him 10 years to make what he will under Top Rank.

We've seen this story before. Bradley dumped his manager, and hired his wife, and then his wife negotiated his new contract. Chavez Jr. will most likely re-sign with TR for 6 fights, and then get a big fight real soon.
