Once Canelo takes back over Cinco de Mayo from Floyd (LOL, Floyd MAD about that too!!!), he'll be our generation's Oscar - fighting everybody, and will take a few L's along the way most likely, but will have so much more respect than taking the route of a Mayweather.

ya i never knew if it was possible with the weight but chavez canelo would probably be the biggest fight in mexican history by far and it would also be huge just in the usa alone among boxing fansComment

I've always thought Canelo faced Floyd too soon (Saul could have done better if he was the last fighter in Mayweather's career). However, Oscar had a plan which required Canelo to fight Floyd last year. Oscar moved him from Showtime and reached an agreement with HBO. Oscar probably knows who and when to fight in order to optimize earnings and popularity. We may not agree but boxing has become a big business and whatever they do is always to maximize profits. Money is what really commands the boxing events.Comment
