Comments Thread For: Kell Brook Back in The Gym, Back in Late February

IBF welterweight champion Kell Brook (33-0, 22KOs) is finally back in the gym and getting himself fit. Brook, who a few weeks ago was attacked and stabbed in his leg, is having rehab on his leg every other day. Brook is getting ready to make the first defense of his world title in late February.

According to the Sheffield Star, Brook is having intensive treatment at Sheffield United - including an electric volt passed into his leg and ice treatment to stimulate blood supply. He will have an MRI scan soon.

Great news, was dreading that he'd be out until late next year.

Don't get too excited guys, Eddie Hearn has made it more than clear that Brook's first defense will be a soft touch. Still will be nice to see him back though.

fair enough, the guy has just been stabbed, he needs a tune up to make sure he's fully functional in a real fight before he fights an A-level opponent. It's only logical to ease back into it, rather than jump in at the deep end when it comes to injuries, and especially stabbing / gunshots / grenade / petrol bomb / chemical weaponry / drone strike injuries etc...

you're saying it's just an excuse to avoid a khan fight in jan like hearn originally claimed? not sure if i can agree man, i think kell just needs a bit more time to heal, he's not necessarily ducking khan this time.

as far as the story goes it seems like it genuinely happened, although details are kind of sketchy. there could be more to it
