Comments Thread For: Hearn: Joshua vs. Price Next Year is a Very Big Fight

Liverpool heavyweight David Price is already talking up a possible clash with rising star Anthony Joshua. Olympic champion Joshua, 24, continued his knockout sequence and claimed the WBC International Heavyweight title with a second-round stoppage of Denis Bakhtov on Saturday night and faces another domestic rival, 39-year-old Michael Sprott, next up in November.

But Price, 31, is back on an upward curve with three victories since losing back-to-back bouts with Tony Thompson and was bullish about his chances should he be able to secure a fight with Joshua in the new year.

Yeah, that would be a good fight, a perfect step up to fight to gauge Joshua.. Plus it will do pretty good money-wise..

in a literal sense yes it is a "big" fight. in terms of boxing no its not. price is a glass jawed bum who was ko'd by a lil slap to the side of the head.

jeez dude,,, can you ever post without disrespecting a fighter? I really hope youre not this way in person as youd have a painful life. price is chinny but he does pack a wallop in that right hand. Joshua probably wins but there is some danger there

Joshua might be glass jawed as well... We just don't know about him, that's why this fight would be a good test and step up for Joshua

Only intriguing to the power in Prices right hand.
I am reading rumours though that Price knocked Joshua out cold in sparring but that is just sparring & may not even be true.

Hearn and Joshua in ring after Joshua's latest victory this past weekend

Interviewer: ...possible showdown with David Price.
Hearn: Yea, I think Anthony Joshua vs David Price could be a huge fight in Britain.

Crowd is most silently with a few boos here and there and the faint sound of a man nailing his testicles to the floor in the distance

Hearn: Oh... maybe not then... I thought it was...

i'm not really disrespecting price as a fighter. he knows he is made out of glass. i'm disrespecting the notion that this is some kind of big fight. its just another fight. it shouldn't be built up as some super attraction. its condescending to hte fans. price isn't very good. he's looked terrible in his last 4 fights. getting knocked down in 3 of them and ko'd in 2. ok he has power. so do a lot of good fighters that joshua could potentially fight.

but Joshua hasn't faced a real big puncher yet. that's my point. price is obviously a very flawed heavyweight but hes also big and strong and we don't know about Joshua's chin. I don't see this being hyped into a super fight but there is some danger there for joshua
