Maidana isn't a Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. I believe Chavez put up the highest regular figures on HBO last year. You'd be better comparing him to Mayweather in that equation.

His end of the agreement is to fight for an acceptable fee. No acceptable fee, no fight. Arum's losing money on him too. It helps nobody, least of all us, the fans.
Trust me the fans aren't missing chavez jr at all he sucks.chavez jr is a bum and a disgrace to his father's name.

Out of that 2 million, I'd say 500k is his chin, style, and 'work ethic' he brings to the ring and 1.5m is based on the last name alone...

Either way not too many fighters make over a mil when they fight much less 2 mil, dude's got so many people blowing smoke up his ass Native Americans think he's sending smoke signals.

Chavez Jr should have taken that $7 mil deal with a 2yr extension if u ask me. The only notable thing he's done so far is get his azz kicked by Sergio Martinez. What does he think he's really worth? In reality the $2mil no extension deal is just about the max what he's worth just because of the last name recognition. Arum offering him $7mil was a bonus and a generous one at that.

Why would Chavez Jr. agree to fight for Arum when he believes he is a free agent? Arum sounds like a bitter old man who knows the gig is up. A few weeks ago, Top Rank's lawyer claimed that they had filed a lawsuit to enforce TR's contract with Chavez Jr. If they actually did file the lawsuit, why would Arum continue to try to negotiate a fight? Why doesn't he wait until the lawsuit is resolved and he has proven that his contract is valid? I said a few weeks ago that I believed the claim about the lawsuit was a lie and it looks like I may be right.

Now, Arum is starting to sound like he knows that he is wrong about the contract. He is starting to criticize/attack Chavez Jr. the way he criticized/attacked Floyd Mayweather after Mayweather left him. That is something that he has never done, not when Chavez Jr. was suspended for smoking marijuana nor when he did absolutely nothing to make weight for the first Vera fight and they kept increasing the weight limit.

There is a reason why boxers, who are franchise worthy attractions, want to leave Top Rank. Bob Arum is a cancer to the sport and a crook. But when it comes to matchmaking, taking a blue chip prospect and Navagating them into a star, nobody beats Top Rank.
