The boxing coaches are all wrong. Shifting to punch and position is a lost art and needs to be applied. In Provodnikov-Bradley, Provodnikov could have come over time after time across Bradley's pitty-pat jabs with his right hand had he stepped forward and closed the gap. I know why boxing trainers don't teach this. Because they are either ignorant of the skill or boxing pushes outside boxing which clearly benefits the outside boring boxers who put crowds to sleep and ruin interest in boxing. To step forward and position yourself, will cut the ring off which makes for better fights. Wake up, fans of real fights. This is necessary for boxers to carry on. Dempsey and Fitzsimmons and Ketchel knew something that clearly most trainers and fans do not.
Watch how GGG and Pirog destroy opponents with shifting. Not just punching but placement.
