PAC/MAY still is the biggest fight to be made, but people are getting sick and tired of hearing about it. Just fkn do it already! The hype around this fight is slowly dying every year that Mayweather continues ducking PAC, people are starting to get their hopes up.

I mean, we all assumed Floyd was just "waiting it out" for PAC to start looking shot before taking him on (like he did with so many others), but even after PAC got ktfo he's still ducking! Jesus mfkn Christ just retire already if you aint got the balls!

Other than the whole PR vs Mexico angle, why is this such a big fight. I don't care how much people moan and complain, when Floyd vs Manny gets made, the boxing world will stop spinning. It's the two best fighters of the last decade, it will shatter all records.

True boxing fans definitely want to see Cotto Vs Canelo. Floyd vs anyone is a joke at this point and that's because Floyd is a joke.

But let's put things into perspective. Oscar wins regardless. If he sets up the Cotto vs Canelo fight in May and Mayweather choses to fight Paqiou or even Danny Garcia, Floyd might win the buys and the fans win too. And that just means Cotto vs Canelo gets made in June on the eve of the PR day parade and it will sell out the garden as well as do 2 million PPV buys.

If Floyd fights Khan on May 2nd, Oscar should definitely go ahead and make the Cotto Canelo fight on the same day. It's the better fight, it will do 2 million buys. I know i'm buying the cotto canelo fight. I'll catch Mayweather Khan on the replay the week after.

I think people are underestimating Cotto's popularity. Cotto, unlike Floyd has fought all comers and took the risk against Martinez; besides Chavez jr, nobody took that risk. Cotto also made history beating Sergio Martinez. Again, no one (and that includes Floyd Mayweather) was trying to make that move/take that risk.

For this reason Puerto Ricans and Mexicans make this fight the PPV Blockbuster on May 2nd and if Mayweather steps up and fights Paqiou, Oscar wins by forcing the may paq fight and Junes fight with cotto and canelo remains a blockbuster.

I don't know about everyone but I agree with most of your post. Top it off, he shouldn't of been rated after being inactive for that time he didn't fight.

I don't know why but I just can't get excited about a Cotto/Canelo fight. I'm not sold on Cotto being a better fighter under Roach just because he beat Delvin Rodriguez (C+ fighter at best) and a hobbled Martinez. I doubt Cotto will fight Canelo's fight when they face each other, so if Cotto boxes vs attempting to trade power shots, I think Canelo will be easy work for him.

Maybe my lack of interest is really because we all know how each fighter can be beat.

Until Floyd and or Manny retires, there is no fight in boxing regardless of weight class that has the potential to be a bigger match up than these 2 squaring off.

To me Cotto vs Canelo is not even worth PPV but rather a great ratings night on HBO.

Would Pacquiao vs Canelo be bigger than Canelo vs Cotto?

Good question. I personally think pac vs canelo would sell more than the others you mentioned. Pacquiao is'very well known and respected by the Mexican community. His last fight with Bradley drew 22 million viewers in Mexico.
