A lot of boxing fans, especially the ones on this site, are annointing Alvarez as the next great superstar and are assuming that he will easily beat and likely KO Cotto. What those fans fail to see or accept is that Alvarez has only fought three high quality opponents in his 45-fight career. Those fighters are Trout, Mayweather and Lara. He got schooled by Mayweather and won controversial decisions against Trout and Lara. Among those three fighters, he scored one knockdown.

There is absolutely no evidence that Alvarez has the skill or power of great fighters like Mayweather, Leonard, Hearns, Duran, Hopkins, Hagler, Whitaker, Trinidad or Sugar Ray Robinson or even semi-greats like De La Hoya and a prime Shane Mosley. Cotto, on the other hand, has fought a lot of quality fighters in his career and fared well against all of them, win or lose. Even though he is past his prime, Cotto will still defeat and likely KO Alvarez IF they ever fight each other.

He is kind of right, why would the fans keep hoping for a Floyd-Pac fight when we all know Floyd will never accept that fight? It's kind of a moot point, so Cotto-Canelo becomes the only big time fight that is actually feasible. Just disappointed that Canelo and his team were too afraid to face Clottey.

Styles make fights and to look good against Canelo, you have got to move around the ring and potshot. If you try to get on the inside and trade with him, you will lose. Do you think Cotto fights like Lara or Floyd?

ODLH doesn't have this fight secured. To date, Cotto seats back... And Floyd needs a new promotional set up...
